Is he really fussy? Running a fever? This looks like hands, foot, and mouth to me tbh. My kids have gotten it from nursery and school and it always covers their legs, genitals, mouth, hands and feet. It’s horrid 😵💫
I was told to use a little bit of hydrocortisone cream to help get rid of the spots and it always worked like a charm for the bumps.
@Alyssa he was fussy when he woke up but I also woke him since our schedule was off. this evening he’s been his normal self! Laughing and playing.
@Alyssa I am begins of HFM. It’s not on his hands or feet currently there is 1 spot on corner of his mouth but I’m not positive it’s the same thing.
My son had something like this (the rash on elbows and legs) nothing in the HFM until day 4 or so, when he got one or 2. But as some became blisters, his doctor said it was HFM
@Mid that’s good to know!! Online has mixed reviews about starting in any of the HFM areas
Yea and sometimes HFM doesn’t hit every area. But those little red bumps out of nowhere are a pretty good sign. Hope your little bub feels better soon
Confirmed HFM. 🥲
I’m so sorry! That is the absolute worst. I would freeze ice cubes with popsicle sticks in them to get my son to stay hydrated. The cold water helps numb the pain in the mouth and throat too.
I recently learned that HFM isn’t only contained to HFM areas as well. My son had a terrible diaper rash and also had sores on his back.
@Kalyn yes his started with what we thought was just a diaper rash. Went to back of legs, then arms, then finally hands and a little mouth.
I also unfortunately think I got it. I’m running a fever now that won’t break.
So far we did a breastmilk and oatmeal bath. We pat dry. We loaded his butt with A&D!! And he’s sleeping in a shirt but nothing on rash bc I’m sure fabrics aren’t helping Nurse told us to give him a small dose of children’s Tylenol to help itching so we did do that too
