@Tiawanna I haven’t tried that. She’s 2.
I give that to my daughter when a cold starts and there are time I give her warm tea with lemon and orange juice just a lil. How often does she get sick?
@Lysha I would check with her pediatrician first. They don’t really have approved “cold” medicine per se for toddlers. Depending on how old she is, they mainly recommend Tylenol to reduce any fevers; and honey in warm water to help with the coughing. Mine is the same way; gets sick ALL the time, so this year I started giving toddler vitamins and it’s helped a lot. Don’t get me wrong, the child still gets sick even when nobody else is sick—but it’s not as intense as it used to be. I give Smarty Pants Toddler multivitamins. But again, check with your pediatrician first cuz they could run some labs to see if there’s something triggering her immune dysfunction. She could be low in iron and iron deficiency anemia does make you more susceptible to getting sick frequently.
Ginger ale is good too
But the natural kind
@Josie I agree with her
@Tiawanna I would say every month now. I live in upstate NY so the weather is a rollercoaster and she’s in daycare. It used to be every two weeks especially when she was teething. It’s back to back and so draining.
@Lysha yea I’m in Buffalo and I understand the weather. It also could be she is around other children too. Also when they do have a fever as long as it’s not over 105 I think it’s okay just take a rag, wash their feet and when it’s bed time put vapor rub on her feet and then socks. It helps my daughter
@Josie I will call them tomorrow thank you. I’ll have to find those vitamins. I was also told to try the airborne vitamins. I would normally use the Hylands brand medicine but it’s doesn’t seem to work anymore.
@Lysha sorry if I’m not helping 😓
@Tiawanna no need to apologize. I’ll definitely try elderberry, thank you!
@Lysha of course ❤️
@Lysha also look up how fever work too. I did and learn that the fever is fighting the cold again tho as long as it’s not over 105
Hyland’s Naturals Kids Day & Night Cold & Cough…..I honestly love Hyland’s brand I’ve tried others but they don’t seem to work as well as the Hyland’s (at least for my son every kid is different). I also use Pedialyte with the extra immune support in it and I cut it with water so it last longer, less sugar for the kid, and it’s a healthier juice option. I hope this helps and I hope she feels better soon!🙏💜

And to get rid of fevers I alternate every 4 hours between Motrin and Tylenol and put a cool (not cold) rag on the back of their neck and give them a luke warm bath to slowly cool them down. Another older style home remedy that my grandmother taught me is to cut an onion and put them at the bottom of the feet and put a sock over it but I like to put a plastic bag over it then the sock so it doesn’t get the socks messed up. This works for babies, toddlers, kids, and adults. The onion takes all the bad stuff and sickness and extracts it from the bottom of the feet and helps with detoxification of the body. I hope this helps too.
Have you tried elder berry and how old is she?
