@Beth yeah that’s my worry with my little boy. To be honest he’s crap taking a bottle and coughs and chokes quite a bit. It’s better when I use gaviscon but don’t want to use it too much because of potential constipation so might try carobel. Thank you x
Ahh yeh should work then. Another thing that helped us was using a vari flow teat. We use Philips avent natural response which means there's no drip at all and they only get out what they suck through it helps them pace. It's still too quick for my 6 month old so we're trailing a size 0 teat when it comes and less thickener as we could really do with weaning him off carobel before he's 1 xx @Sarah
Oh amazing, thank you. I’ll look in to those bottles. I use mam bottles but with lanisoh teats at the moment and I think they’re a bit quick for him still. His latch is awful too so all in all just a bit of a nightmare lol x
@Sarah How old is he? Yeh I'd probably say it might be still too quick as I've trialled all teats and brands and they're all too quick for my son, except this natural response one with 2 scoops thickener. He had a bottle aversion because of coughing which was a total nightmare. They say the teats with a gradual slope rather than the one with a quick curve help with latch but then if the teat holes too big it kind of doesn't matter either way as it won't be any good. So much trial and error isn't it. I hope you get it sorted xx
I find it works wonders for my little one! He’s almost 5 months and we use a scoop of carobel and size 2 teats! We got a prescription for it from our GP. Hope it helps!
No side effects for us, doesn't help his spit up that much really but we use it to minimise coughing on thin milk as he has an unsafe swallow x
