Perfect Prep Machine

I might be thinking too much into it but one of my twins really struggles with wind and being sick when I use the perfect prep machine. I clean it etc but has anyone else’s baby had these problems? It’s only one twin so just eliminating what it could be.

I can’t confirm it did anything but we also stopped a couple of weeks ago and went back to fridge method. I do find he burps a bit easier and seems more settled after feeds but it’s hard to tell as they grow up so quick and can wind easier as time goes on. I’d say it’s worth a try, I had multiple doctors and midwives tell me to not use it xxx

Yeah we got one but we stopped using it with same issues and moved onto the Nuby hot shot method. The prep machine hot shot isn’t as hot as nhs recommends for formula and I think it makes quite a frothy bottle which might be causing an issue. Hard to know but worth trying a different method!

@Alice ah lovely thank you

@Sophie thank you

There the worse things ever. I had to stop using it for my l.g use the rapid cooler only now xx

@Alice I've tested my machine with the thermometer. The hot shot that comes out is 73C.

@Anna NHS don’t recommend it as in most cases the temp of the hot shot is inconsistent, most will reach above 70° but not consistently for every single bottle. After a lot of research, a lot of babies show reflux/colic symptoms that completely disappear when they stop using the prep machine, I think because every baby is different everything is trial and error to see what works best for you. I know plenty of people who get on well with it and on the other hand plenty who don’t x

@all thank you

@Becky try a different method and stir/swirl rather than shake so it has fewer bubbles x

@Alice thank you, I went back to the kettle last night and a lot less sickness 🙏🏻

@Becky that’s great news!
