am I bad for not making home made food from scratch

For example pasta with the sauce I will buy the jar from the shops first quickness. Other things too. I feel like I cheating ( I am ) but i never add extra salt with meals first us. 16 mo and myself. All I see is expectations on other mums making EVERYTHING from scratch and it’s making me feel so guilty.

I don't make everything from scratch. I make as much as I can though. Like lasagna I make the white sauce but buy the red sauce

You have to do what works for your family, don't make yourself feel bad!

Get new mom friends then. lol We are all just surviving out here. Moms that do all that probably have a lot more help and support than others. So it gives them the time to do it. For the rest of us, one day u can but don’t feel Bad that u can’t. It’s not like you’re feeding baby frozen meals and fats food everyday. So you’re ok mama

Trust me no matter how much effort you put in cooking most kids turn out to Be fussy eaters and most mothers end up just giving them practical easy food that they eat. I use to put a lot effort in making all the food and guess what his now only eating certain unhealthy things

No, you are not bad!! Not even a little bit! As long as your kid is being fed, mostly healthy-ish foods, it is all that matters.

You are doing an amazing job providing nourishment and a safe, happy environment for your child. There’s no “perfect” way to parent or cook — the best way is the one that keeps you both healthy and happy. Please be kind to yourself — you’re doing so much better than you think!

I tend to cook from scratch, but I mostly enjoy it, it’s healthier and often cheaper. Cooking from scratch doesn’t have to be complicated though. A basic tomato pasta sauce can take like 5 mins :) Also no hate at all on people who do use jars. You gotta do what you gotta do!

girl. respectfully don’t worry about what other moms are doing. you’re feeding your family. you aren’t feeding them junk. you’re doing an amazing job at being a mom and taking care of your family. it’s hard because we see a lot of what we want for ourselves in social media but truthfully you’re living a realistic life. the fact that you try to not put extra salt in your meals says a lot. it shows you truly care. those things matter. don’t be hard on yourself. you’re doing great okay 💕💕💕

Not at all!! Your an amazing mammy xx

Hell no. Do what works for you. I do most of the cooking because I like to, but I also work like 30 hours a week, so I definitely shop based on what's gonna be easy for me! Sometimes when I have a day off I'll prep foods to heat up for my husband and I or the baby for those days I'm busy. Recently I made her little pasta portions I froze in mini muffin cups, so they're easy to grab one or two and heat up for her. I used frozen chicken I threw in the instant pot, frozen steamer bags of sweet potato, and canned low sodium tomatoes for the sauce. Cause it was easy and I threw it all together in like 10 minutes! And then most of it she just ends up playing with cause she loves the squishy textures lol And I have frozen dinners for us and a couple of those little Gerber ready to go toddler meals for days I have zero energy to be cooking.

All that Instagram online mom crap is such fake BS. It's great for them if someone can be a stay at home mom cooking four course meals for their toddler, but it's super unrealistic and most of it is probably ending up on the floor anyways 😂 Your kiddo is loved and fed. You're doing awesome, mama ❤️

tbh, I feel like that's an unrealistic expectation and only very few ppl can actually do that. don't listen to what other ppl say, if that works for them then that's great, but that doesn't mean it'll work for u. u just need to do what's best for u and ur kid, and trust ur instincts, not what other ppl say/do 🩵

You can learnt to make from scratch it’s easy

Think it's all about balance.. when my son was older I used already made pasta sauces etc on occasion when he was 1, but from 6 months to 1 year I would freshly make everything and batch freeze it

Quite a few easy simple recipes to follow and you can batch cook/freeze too which helps

Don’t even worry hun! Feed your baby whatever they’ll eat Trust me… I tried making nice meals from scratch, all the healthy stuff… it all went in the bin she didn’t eat it 😂😣 so instead I stuck to what I knew she would eat (jacket potatoe/chicken nuggets/garlic bread) beige food 😂 Don’t stress honestly you’re doing great ☺️🌷 x

Honestly, pasta sauces do not take long to prepare. I made a bolognaise sauce from scratch for dinner tonight and it took less than 10 minutes to make! I've also made cheese sauces too and then freeze in portions.
