Hair type

Could somebody with curl experience please tell me what type my daughter has? I’m clueless at this 😅

I agree but also hair type isn’t what’s most important when dealing with curly hair. Porosity is and density is what you should look to for. Hair porosity is how your hair takes to water and density is how your hair is going to take to products. So me and my baby have high porosity-fine hair and can’t use heavy thick products because it just ways my hair down and clogs my cuticle but thick deep conditioner work really well because high porosity hair just soaks up whatever you put into it. All that to say, curly hair is a journey and you’ll just have to try a few things to figure out what works best for her hair. You can figure out what porosity she has by taking a piece of her hair that’s fallen out and putting it in a clear cup of warm water, floating = low porosity, middle =medium porosity, sinking = high porosity. You can look up how each affects the hair and some tips for care! Sorry if that’s a lot of information lol

it’s beautiful! i would make sure to use a leave in conditioner and detangle when it’s wet

That’s normal as she gets older it might change. My daughter was born with pin straight hair but it’s starting to get curly now at 7/8 month. Luckily for me (at the moment) our hair is pretty similar so I know what’ll work for her. I would recommend trying some light weight products like a leave in conditioner her hair doesn’t look too thick. That should give her some definition without weighing it down, and still allow you to style it if you want.

I would try something like this. You could even try the detangler which is a little more light weight. I use the detangler but my daughter’s hair look finer than your daughters. Looks about the same curl pattern though. https://www.walmart.com/ip/901848875?sid=7e87d0c1-3f50-4f7c-953c-4543f6ed0178
