NCT/Antenatal courses

Hiya, I'm coming up to 29 weeks pregnant and have heard people talking about antenatal classes. I was just looking for opinions on going to classes and if anyone has any recommendations of good antenatal courses? ThanksšŸ¤

We did the free one online offered by our hospital as the NCT classes were at least 1.5 hours drive from our house and cost £270 which we didn't feel we could justify. We are also waiting to do one with our midwife around 36 weeks but thst is a one off session

Have a look on ā€˜bump to baby club’ and search for the one in your area. Costing Ā£180 for 6 sessions. My friend did it and highly recommended especially for meeting people!xx

We've signed up to do the online NHS ones through our hospital. We also wanted an in-person one to meet other people and feel like we were prepared. We found one in our local town run by a local company. We are starting this tomorrow and has more sessions then the NHS one.

Really wanted to do NCT classes to meet people but they've stopped doing them in the town we live in. Found some free online classes on The Baby Academy, and we also paid £100 to do their full day Antenatal Class at the weekend and it was so useful and included first aid. Feel so much more prepared now x

I’m doing happy parents happy baby. First one tonight!

@Sophie we did our first HPHB class last night and enjoyed it! 😊 hope you do too.

The baby academy have some good free classes online, and also a longer ā€œultimateā€ class which is Ā£99. We haven’t done that one yet so can’t comment on it, but the free ones have been good! ā˜ŗļø

Hi, I also had this question! General feedback I got was that the NHS course is just as informative however the NCT classes provide you with a support network of local mums that you can stay in touch with after the course. I've also enrolled onto the free baby academy courses to supplement my learning therefore I'm hoping this covers all basis!
