So we just got a kitten do I have to get some type of shot I know my SIL told me that the cats have something that pregnant women need a shot or something like that

That's not true. You need to wear gloves when cleaning the litter box and a mask. Outside of that, your cat should have their vaccines, especially their rabies...incase they ever get out.
The only thing I was told is that I CAN NOT clean the litter boxes. That’s it though.
I've never heard of that. I have 2 cats that I've had through all 3 of my pregnancies (this is my 3rd). You're just supposed to be careful about scooping their litter box. Like wearing gloves while scooping it, or washing your hands thoroughly after.
