How did you quit the junk food?

Hey mamas, I'm so frustrated with myself because I just can't quit the junk food :( it's like an addiction.. I do so good in the morning and lunch time with healthy, well balanced meals but at dinner.. idk I'm so exhausted and mentally drained that I just want comfort food. Even if I eat a healthy dinner, I ruin it by binge eating junk food. Idk how to break the cycle. I try not to buy any but I always cave, especially if I've had a bad day. Idk I just feel trapped in the cycle, I want to lose weight and get healthy so bad but then I lose all my progress to binge eating. If anyone has been in a similar situation, what did you do to fight it? I got a walking pad and have some weights, do some youtube workout videos, but it doesnt matter when I binge eat. Any advice is appreciated, please no negative vibes :( advice is welcomed, just not rudely please 🥺

I’ll tell myself I have to eat a fruit or a salad first and if I’m still hungry I can have the sweet. I also try to limit how much is in my pantry and also try to pick the healthiest junk foods. But sometimes I’ll cave and get a honey bun or pound cake. That pound cake got me hostage lol

Just keep urself busy I am trying to join a gym healthy eating x

I don't keep it in the house.

I track calories and add my snacks/treats first, then the rest of my eating around it.. that way I know that I can have them as part of my plan xx

I don’t buy it. I don’t shop at the supermarket I go to a fruit and veggie shop, butchers and fishmongers is there, at the back they have pastas and sauces and spices, on the left is a whole window of cheeses. Basically change where you shop, avoid the junk aisle and what you don’t see you won’t miss. Instead, buy a bunch of fruits, and a mixed trail nut mix, and snack on those. Every now and again (like once every 3m) in go into Aldi to get toiletries and household supplies because we’ve ran out of detergent or dishwasher powder, but that’s the extent of walking into a supermarket for me.

I am on a drink that helps me not feel the need to snack so much if you are interested let me know!

I was the exact same way. What seemed to work for me was cutting off the junk food cold turkey. The first three days were hell, I was grumpy, hungry, and anxious. Each day, I tried something different to fill my junk food void, so new tea flavors hot and cold all different ways. Once I got past those 3 days, it was easier. My body started to not crave the comfort of junk food. It's not easy, but just getting past those 3 days worked for me.

Have you tried replacing the junk food with healthier options? I know it’s easier said than done but it helps a lot. I love food so trust me I really understand.
