Travel toys and other essentials!
Looking for advice from seasoned mother of well travelled children! We are travelling down south at the end of May. On a good traffic day it's a 5hour journey, but we're going on Bank Holiday weekend so we're not hopeful! 😳😂
My children will be 6months and 3years old when we travel, so I'm looking for recommendation of things to entertain them - especially the big one - in the car. We're hoping that if we take them out of bed and put them straight in their car seats in the early hours, they will sleep for the first stretch and we'll stop for Maccie's breakfast 😋
Also, by the time we go our eldest will have been potty trained for just over a month. He has done REALLY well and mastered it really quickly. I don't want to confuse him or make him regress, but if there's traffic and we can't stop or he does fall asleep in the car he might have an accident. Do I put him in a nappy? Or just put a towel in his car seat?
With my daughter who is potty trained at day but still wet at night, we explain to her that in long car journeys we wear a nappy just in case. She asks for her knickers over the top of it but it hasn't confused her at all! During the start of Potty training we used to have a puppy pad in the car seat too. For entertainment, I think snacks, tablet with a downloaded film, books, reusable sticker books work but my daughter usually just ends up playing with her toys and talking away to herself x
