Solo Holiday with Kids?!?!
Have any mums done a holiday alone with their children? My children and I (boy aged 5 and girl aged 13 months) are going to Antalya for a beach holiday next week for 7 days. The father of my children has disappointed last minute and is no longer coming. I’m so nervous about flying and going alone with the kids. What activities do you think can be done given my son’s and daughter’s interests are completely different? My plan was for my 5 year old to be in the pool with his dad while I tended to our daughter as she has eczema. How do I manage them both in the pool for example as my son no doubt will want to go on all the slides and I cannot leave him unsupervised.
Any tips would be helpful to make it as pleasant an experience for ALL of us 😅
I haven’t flown alone but mine are 4 and 3 and when they were younger I would make sure that I was at the baby pool whenever their dad wasn’t around (which was alot) and it seemed to work fine. If he wants to go on the slides though you will have to go up with them both till you know he is ready to go and then maybe tell him to wait till you have got back down to the bottom before he goes. That’s the only thing that I can think of. There will be lots of people to help you with other things like the suitcases etc. you never know he might even make friends especially If your hotel has a children’s club take advantage of that so you can spend time with your daughter or join in with them to get both doing something together. As long as he has his armbands and your daughter is in a float ring or armbands (if she’s walking then even better) then stick to the baby/kiddy pools until you’re comfortable and you’ll be fine. I bet you surprise yourself with how much you can do alone! Enjoy x
