Do you give water after? My boy hates prunes so I just give him high percentage fruits like watermelon and strawberries in a feeding dummy x
Not much no, we mix it in with other purees, he doesnt like the puree on its own
Prune or pear puree should help him poop x
You can give him small amounts of cool boiled water with his food and that can help get things moving
Be careful not to make the puree too thick initially too
Give cooled boiled water with food and I also find I sometimes need to give my LO a hand by bracing his legs/feet so he can go. He is getting used to the firmer poos now though
Get used to offering water with his solids. Cool boiled water for now and after 6 months it doesn't need to be boiled. Open cup or weighted straw cup with no valve best apparently, I've just got my girl a tum tum cup and she does really well with it ☺️
I was advised cool boiled water with a few drops of squeezed orange juice xx
@Holly we’ve only just started & we are only introducing vegetables at the moment not any fruits yet. also thought we couldn’t give water until 6 months? he isn’t yet
@Rhea just has to be boiled cooled water with food but when my boy is struggling I just try and offer some a little more often to help him
That's because the advice on solids is not to start until 6 months, and the advice is to start offering water with solids when weaning. So if you're weaning before 6 months then yes you will need to offer cooled boiled water. (Not throwing shade, I've also started a bit earlier than 6 months)
@Rhea also when they’re 6 months only I’m 99% sure you don’t have to boil the water for them :)
My LO has done a poo every day without fail since she was born until we started weaning. We started weaning 3 days ago and she’s only just done a poo this evening. I read that the move to solids can take their digestive systems a while to adjust. We did give water with the food too and she still didn’t go for the 3 days x
Mix some prune puree into some natural/Greek yoghurt. If he doesn't like prunes, apparently all the other 'p' fruit and veg are good too!

@Amber I’m fully aware of the guidance, thanks. As you can see in my post I explained why we started 2 weeks before he was 6 months
I literally said I also started early and I quote "not throwing shade" calm down
I mix in prune puree into some purees that hes already tried, i had 3 nappies in 2 hours!
