Metformin in pregnancy

I have been taking metformin to help me ovulate since August last year and I carried on taking it in early pregnancy as per my gynaecologist’s advice. I am now 12 weeks pregnant and I was wondering if I should stop taking it now. Some sources say to take it until 12 weeks and some advise to carry on throughout the entire pregnancy so I’m unsure

I went to a fertility clinic to get pregnant and they advised that I continue taking metformin until I talked to the obgyn I was referred to. It was approximately 12 weeks that I got in to see the obgyn and they said I can stop it anytime. If the metformin was for diabetes vs ovulation induction then there may have been a different answer
