Thanks for sharing, he’s definitely in a phase with big emotions and tantrums at the moment so maybe it’s that. I’ll try a reward system as well x
Another friend of mine found her little boy had lots of accidents when he was having blackcurrant squash as it irritates the bladder. When they cut that out of his diet his accidents stopped.
My little one has been out of nappies for over a year, and we had a bit of a regression a few months ago (so probably around 9 months after ditching the nappies!) where he suddenly started having accidents out of nowhere. It was so bizarre because he had been so good for so long! Also they were only ever during the day and he was still managing to use the potty overnight which seemed odd! He’s through it again now though and back to normal, getting himself there on time! Not sure what it was all about, but it was strange feeling we had to tell him to go again when out and about to avoid having to do full outfit changes!
My little girl goes through phases of more accidents, though we've noticed a definite pattern with her overall behaviour. It seems when she is going through a bit of a developmental thing (often more tantrums, acting out, big emotions etc) she will also start having more accidents. Sometimes they aren't so much as 'accidents' as defiance wees! We have been using a little reward jar (sticks on the fridge and she can slot in little wooden smiley faces after each wee/poo on the loo) and she knows that when it's full we go and choose a present (trip to the charity shop/pound shop) and if she has an accident they all get tipped out and we start again. Definitely seems to help get out of the accident phase quicker!
