Any positive experiences of labour and delivery at Burton Queens hospital?

I've read some reviews online and started to panick. Looks like the last inspection was inadequate. I'm due at the end of the month and looking for some reassurance, please!

Hey. I’ve had two c-sections at burton hospital. Both been absolutely fine. First one was a failed induction & emergency section, the speed was unreal but the staff were fab. Second was a planned section with twins & I honestly couldn’t have asked for a smoother experience. I had to stay for a week the second time around due to one of the twins being poorly but the staff were so friendly and helpful. I would recommend the place but I equally haven’t got any experience elsewhere. Good luck 🙂

I had my son there 2 years ago and he was born quite suddenly at 24 weeks, I can’t fault them at all, all of the doctors and midwives were incredible and quite literally saved both mine and my sons lives. There was one midwife which I didn’t particularly get on with but that was all, she didn’t really do anything wrong just didn’t like her attitude she was like an old school head teacher 😅 I told the ones I did like that I didn’t like her and I never saw her again x

Thankyou! So nice Reading something positive x

I didn't give birth at Burton because I had the choice of hospitals, but I'm under their midwife team and they have all been lovely!

My emergency csection was amazing (all things considered), the staff was lovely and postnatal was great . I wouldn’t recommend being induced there though I won’t go into it but because of my experience as a whole if I have another baby (there) I’ll be electing for a csection rather than running the risk of being induced again

Yeah really positve! I had my son in march last year. We were there 6 days with induced labour (don't let the 6 days put you off) bubba just didn't wanna come out but I was safe and looked after and the staff were amazing! Also just remember that most of the time if people review esp health care its usually negative. All the best for you and baby , you've got this 🥰💪🏼 xxx

Thankyou!xx

@Katie Hiya I’ve been told to be induced do you think I should go to Derby?

@Georgina personally I would , everyone’s induction experience is different and although mine at burton was not good at all (I ended up making formal complaints about the staff) my friends at derby (2 months later) was amazing Just to add I gave birth almost 2 years ago now so things could’ve changed as I know there was an investigation after my complaint which led to a lot of apologies from higher up because they didn’t understand why my care was as it was

I was induced last week at Burton and have had a beautiful baby girl 💖 the care and midwives at burton were amazing ! I could not fault them at all they were so supportive and kind throughout every step of the journey

@Katie I don’t want to take any chances so I really appreciate what you’ve said I’m going to get myself changed over to derby thank you again 😊

I was induced at Derby with my first via pessary induction and went home after, it took me 3 phonecalls for them to listen to me and my concerns and ask me to come in, they said the pain I was feeling was completely normal, we arrived at carpark 6 at 1:30am and he was born via category 1 emergency section at 2:38am. My concerns and the pain I was feeling was an oversensitive reaction and my placenta abrupting, luckily the bleed happened on the operating table, everyone reacts differently to induction but they did not listen to my intuition and concerns!
