Bored in the suburbs

We moved from DC to the suburbs of Maryland a few months before my daughter was born for more space and a yard. It all seemed to make sense at the time but after 2 years- I hate all the driving, making friends is difficult and the never ending house projects are overwhelming. I am considering moving back into city life but probably New England - are mom’s out there raising kids in downtown areas with advice ?

No advice. Moved out of Arlington, VA to a small town and regret it big time too. I feel bad because when I talk to people they don’t get what it is I miss. It’s just a whole different lifestyle. We are thinking of moving back by the end of the year but I am also thinking of other areas that have a more city feeling to them.

Which Maryland suburbs? That makes a big difference too

I moved from Fairfax Va to the country of central Va. I just like the slower pace. But it does get boring and hard to meet friends!

I totally feel this! I moved from Florida to virginia and I hate it. I've been here a year and have yet to make a friend. Its such a slower pace from what I'm used to. I'm just bored.
