I have a German shepherd because that’s the breed my partner wanted. I do 95% of the things with her and I just wanted a couch potato doggo. Love her so much though but my god she has a lot of energy

I always wanted a german shepherd as my first dog, I love my dog dgmw and I wouldn’t change having her for the world but sometimes i do wish i had a german shepherd instead of a collie/lab/greyhound mix

I do sometimes yeah. I have a 1 year old German Shepherd cross Husky. He's high energy and destructive. But seeing how he is with my little girl is honestly the sweetest thing ❤️ though I do wish for a less energetic dog some days

@Lou she is the best dog but she definitely has her flaws but I have to take responsibility for that. Her mum and dad are both protection dogs so she is naturally very protective over me and my daughter. Sometimes this is annoying as I can’t just take her to the pub or car shows

Absolutely lol. I always only had GSD and they are perfect all round dogs. But my boy of 8 years is a border collie cross malamute and hes a scatty get! Lol. I will definitely go back to the Shepherd breed but i love my boy and as annoying as he is.....i wouldn't change him for the world. X

I have a Malinois that’s 5 this year. I feel bad for him that I can’t give him the time I used to because I have two under two right now but I know that time will come again. My other three are couch potatoes so they don’t care much but my Mali is doing brilliantly considering he doesn’t get worked like he used to. I think it’s normal to have those feelings sometimes

I have a cocker spaniel and he is the best dog in the whole world. I will never own anything but spaniels. I love him so much, even when he’s naughty I wouldn’t change anything about him 😂😂😂

I have a chihuahua and whilst I love her, she’s such a yappy little thing it drives me insane! I’ve only ever had big dogs growing up and probably wouldn’t ever get a small dog again for this reason haha!!

Golden kelpie that needs 2 walks a day + enrichment and play time, she also resource guards a lot . And while I love her with my whole heart and wouldn’t exchange her for anything, she is a lot to handle. It’s all down to me to do all the dog stuff while I have a 4 month old baby, it’s really difficult, I’ve paid out hundreds in dog training and the pain I have from over exerting myself with the walks is awful. I did want a more relaxed dog but my partner really wanted her, then gave up all dog responsibility when it got hard.

Absolutely not, and no matter how difficult he may sometimes be I wouldn’t change him for anything. I have a 5 year old German shepherd husky cross, he’s house trained, isn’t destructive, is just an asshole sometimes 😂 I think dogs are a reflection of their owners and mine certainly is 😂😭. Extremely high energy sometimes but sleeps with me on the sofa other times. My perfect little man. Always my first baby. I’ll 100% get a husky or GS after him BECAUSE of him 🤍🤍

@Molly I have a 2yr old Mali x and I feel bad as well. My knees are so bad with this pregnancy, that I can't do the long walks atm.

I have a Staffordshire Bull Terrier called Loki and he is the best dog I could ever wish for!! He’s amazing with other dogs (we did lots of socialising as a pup) and is fab with children/adults. Yes, he is a bit bonkers at first but calms down within a few mins x

I have a Jack Russel x Shi Tzu x Maltese, Lurcher x Staffy and a Mali x. I love them all although I wouldn't of chose the breeds I have, they all just appeared in my life lol.

I have two cockapoos got them before having my daughter and they were my babies now I have her they’re hard work not bcos they’re naughty but they require a LOT of exercise

@Kirsty he’s so lovely!!

@Raeshan thank you! Can totally relate to your hair comment 😂

@Kirsty I’m hoovering and mopping 3-4 times a day. It’s beyond a joke 😂

@Ebony I leave the hair outside for the birds!😂 the other day I was sorting the garden and came across a HUGE clump of it. The birds must have gathered it all up. I was so confused, from a distance I thought it was a dead animal😩 I hoover and run the mop round every night before bed. Every morning it’s like ‘let’s see what the Dyson can collect today!’

@Raeshan my hoover is a pet one but it doesn't touch half the fur. I got the viral tik tok shop carpet brushes and it puts my hoover to shame

@Ebony we tried the groomers a while ago just to see if they could get the majority out and he hated it so never ending home brushing it is 😭😂

@Kirsty he's not been groomed by a groomer but has seen one for advice on his coat. He loved it 😂

My retired racing greyhound can't be around other non greyhound dogs or strangers. We've had her for 10 years and tried so many different things/behaviorists etc and never really made much progress. Wouldnt change her for the world though or have a different breed, but I guess I sometimes wonder how much easier life would be with a 'normal' dog 🤦‍♀️

@Ebony yeah I have a Dyson with a pet attachment thing but it’s just never ending!😩

@Raeshan I totally recommend those rubber carpet brushes! I do it once every now and then or if I'm bored in the evening. It's makes a world of a difference and on tik tok you can get them for £15 compared to £25+ elsewhere

@Ebony the thing is my Hoover does lift the hair really well, it’s just as soon as I hoover, he sheds more hahah

@Amy same here, my girl is 9 and she can be excitable and bouncy for the first few minutes of seeing someone but calms down and loves a fuss. She’s fantastic with my daughter and loves being around people. A perfect cross between couch potato and bouncy pup 🩷
