Fundal Height

Hey! Has anyone measured 2cm over the typical fundal height and if so, what did the midwife say or do? My midwife wasn’t that reassuring …. I’m 28 weeks but measured 30cm

Have you been sent for a growth scan? I was 29.5cm at 28 weeks (plotting me above all the lines) and when I went for a growth scan they said baby is on 88th centile. I’ve been back today and measured 32cm at 31 weeks but following the line so no growth scan this time.

I think the midwife said she was going to refer me because of my fibroids although I had been told these were ok previously. When she plotted this growth on my chart, it’s above the lines. She did say as it’s my first measurement that they’ve done that it might be slightly off. But I had an emergency scan at 24 weeks and baby was in the middle of the lines so in four weeks has kind of shot up xx

With my 2nd I was measuring 7cm over! They just did some extra growth scans to keep an eye. I was told 3cm over was fine

I measured 30cm at 28 weeks and have been told I’m 97th percentile based on m growth chart. I am having growth scans anyway with the first one being at 32 weeks (just under 3 weeks time now). Midwife didn’t seem concerned at all as it was the first measurement. Next ones become more telling

I’m on the 3rd centile on the 28th of April 2025

I’ve consistently been measuring 2cm over each time. My midwife said they don’t really worry about bigger measurements too much and would be more concerned if they smaller

@Lara yeah my midwife wasn’t concerned. I think it’s made me think more about birth choices though!

@Sophie what do you mean? As in vaginal birth or opting for elective C-section? Xx

I'm 29cm at 28 weeks and midwife wasn't worried at all. Said they'd only check with a scan if I drastically drop on the chart or stay on the 97th percentile later in pregnancy x

I got sent for growth scan as measured 39cm at 31w 🙈. Growth scan was ok and going to do another in a few weeks

Yes. If I’m genuinely having a large baby I’d consider opting for a planned section. Will see what my scans say!
