Down’s syndrome testing
We did a blood test and the results have come back (1:110) higher risk. The hospital has suggested further testing which we are going to do. This news as made me really upset. I’m 34 and this is my first baby after several losses. Any got any advice on this and how worried should I be? Should I prepare for the worst!

Hello, I had this with my first pregnancy, hers came back 1 in 55 and we decided against further testing. Due to the risk of miscarriages and having past miscarriages. My midwife sorted out a detailed 20 week scan where they looked for all the soft markers and took us off the high risk. My daughter was born without down syndrome and extremely healthy and happy xx

Hey, sorry you’re having this worry. I think it’s important to remember that at this stage it’s just a chance, rather than a definite diagnosis. I went through this in my first pregnancy so would be happy to message about what happens next if that would be helpful x
