Tips and tricks please

Hey everyone! I'm a first time mum (17+2), living with husband and our 4 year old pug, Ernie. I'm fully remote work and hubby works from home 3/4 days per week. Was just wondering what helpful tips and tricks you might have for getting you pup used to baby. I know he will be amazing around her as he a gentle boy and loves kids. But I don't want to completely freak him out when things start changing. Any tips or resources you could share would be greatly appreciated. Pic of Ernie for reference.

no advice - but ernie is GORGEOUS! i’m sure he will make the best big brother ❤️

We don't have a dog but my dad has 2 German Shepherds so we looked into what to do with them for when we visited with our LG. They advise that anything new (next2me, cot etc) is put up before the baby arrives so the dog can sniff it, get used to it then get bored of it before the baby arrives so there's not too many changes in one go. My sister who lives with my dad also played baby cry noises around them so they got used to it. Our first visit there we took her in the house in her car seat and let them sniff her legs before getting her out and everytime they came near said gentle which helped. When she cried, they did bark as it was a new noise to them but after a day the oldest didn't care and the youngest one would sit next to whoever had her and just stare

Hello, I'm new to the app🙈 When we had our son, we only had our Staffordshire bull terrier and the whole family was worried because he is quite boisterous. Small and sweet introductions helped a lot and we also gave him a blanket that smelt of our baby. Different things work for different dogs, I'm sure you'll find what works best for him 🥰 x
