trying to quit..

posting this incognito bcuz obviously. so i'm about to enter my third trimester and because i have ASD and ADHD it's been extremely difficult to eat anything without smoking, i gag/throw up every time and then im nauseous because i can't eat anything. i've been trying to quit because i'm in an illegal state and am down to smoking 1 time a day for about 10 mins but it's taking a toll on me. i'm also on zofran every 4 hours and B6 and unisom daily as well but MJ is the only thing that helps me feel normal/get rid of sensory issues from my ASD to get something down. i'm worried about testing positive but more worried about feeding my baby when she's kicking for food since she knows that's the only way i'll eat. thinking about going to a dietician that works with neurodivergent people. any tips on how you dealt with food aversion when quitting while pregnant?

Good luck. You know what’s more important. Do they test every time in your state? You may test positive but you’re at such a low dosage it’s not going to be in the babies urine by the time you deliver and that’s what is going to matter. Also stressing out is not helping anything! I tested positive and but my baby didn’t so nothing was ever said again about it - at least to my face and I don’t care what they had to say about me haha my baby was perfectly healthy so they could kma 🤣 anyway good luck girl you know what’s most important and that’s keeping that baby fed and healthy in your body!! Also the dietician that works with pregnant ND people would be a great idea!! Hope you get some answers 💗

@Nicole i honestly don't know, i live in texas and have been trying to read around about it but not getting a clear answer. some say only if you have a history, some say it happens most of the time. my husband's best friend's wife smoked on the way to her delivery in tx and nothing happened with them so i'm confused. i've heard of testing the cord too which stays for months.. babygirl is measuring perfectly, labs are perfect, and her anatomy scan went really well too and my ob hasn't said anything about my urine considering i leave a sample every time i go in. i'm just hoping for the best and trying to smoke as least as possible. thank you for your advice and support ♥️

Good luck!! It’ll be okay. They’re definitely not going to test the cord if there’s no history of anything even a positive thc test at your docs. I honestly think your baby will be negative anyway. Also! Even if there was a small chance that the baby tested positive I promise they’re not going to take your baby away!! They may open a case if she’s positive (I think you’d have to be an all day habitual smoker for that to happen) but they’ll close it once they see that you’re a good mother and you have a crib and food for your baby in your house. That’s really all they look for. As long as your house is live-able and you have food and a bed for her and I’m sure you’ve got way more then just that!! :) it would literally be an open and shut case. I know no one wants to deal with that ever especially with a newborn but that’s literally the worst thing that would even happen. Good luck!!

I am also in texas. I didn’t get drug tested nor did my baby when I delivered. I have a history of smoking weed and my doctors have that in my file. No issues from my end. Also babies already have a level of cannabinoids in their system. I would say try to cut back if possible. Maybe hit the blunt a couple times during yoir session but dont finish a whole blunt yk?

@Dara I’m sure if it is mandated they still have to inform you. My baby’s meconium was NOT tested in fact so please stop scaring her and putting out false info. Have you done your research?
