Sweep, pros and cons?
I’ve been offered a sweep at my next appointment (39 + 6).
What are peoples experiences of having this done and the pros and cons of it?
I want to be patient and let baby come when baby’s ready but I’m also very uncomfortable now 😭😂
I previously was induced with my first baby due to my waters leaking and labour was LONG so I’m hoping for my body to be more in control this time and hopefully have a nicer time of labour.

@Robyn my baby is in the perfect position too and super low. The pressure of he or she sitting so low is killing me 😭 I hope the sweep works for you!

My first was an induction that led to a c section so I opted for sweeps this time to aim for a VBAC before 41 weeks. I had my first sweep at 39+6 and was 3cm stretching to 6! My second sweep was 40+1 and I was at 5cm!! Went into labour exactly 6hoirs later, gave birth 4 hours after contractions started 🤯 It was super quick but a super healing experience after a not so great time with my first
I had a mini sweep on Monday and it did nothing for me 😆 I had another sweep at 1:35pm today and it’s done nothing for me 😆😆😆 slowly going insane lol. I’m 40+4, baby is in perfect position, extremely low, cervix is soft but only 1cm dilated. Being induced on Wednesday next week 😭😭
