Drinking water abroad

Going away with LO who will be 9 months, he’s EBF. He loves to drink water during his meals and obviously with is being very hot where we’re going I want him to be able to have water. I understand that under 1s can’t have bottled water? Is it the case of giving cooled boiled water? I feel like such a novice when it comes to this

Omg what I didn’t know that was a thing! Researching now

I think it will very much depend on where you are going. In some countries tap water is fine and in others it is not. It could well be wiser to stick to cooled boiled tap water in the event of doubt.

There are some that are safer for babies to drink as they are lower in sodium - it’s because of the increased minerals etc that they generally aren’t considered ‘safe’. The ones that are better tend to have a picture of a baby on the label. From memory I think Evian was one and maybe Font Vella but I might be wrong. We went away when my daughter was 10 months and bought water that was safer and she was fine

@Kristine neither did I! Wasn’t until I mentioned it to a friend and she told me they shouldn’t

@Kayleigh ohh thank you didn’t know this either!

It’s due to the sodium levels, I know Spain have bottled water that’s suitable for babies marked by a baby face xx

You just need to check sodium level in the bottle… usually there is a baby on the bottle

We always pick up large bottles of Evian airside and take with us x

Evian is one of the good ones yeah!

Thank you everyone! Checked Evian and it has the baby symbol!
