PROM and second pregnancy

My first was born early due to PROM at 35 weeks. We are now planning our second and was wondering if there was a chance of this happening again? Has anyone gone for a second and what was their experience ?

My daughter arrived at 34 weeks due to PROM 2 years ago. My second arrived in February this year, I was 38 + 1 when my waters went! So he was term thankfully but still before my due date. I was offered a cervix check at 20 weeks and all was fine, therefore I wasn’t monitored or classed as high risk during my second pregnancy, but I think this depends on your hospital as they all seem to be different. My first, I pprom at 27 weeks and had him at 28 weeks. He is now a healthy 2+ years old. My second, I was classed as high risk due to my previous pregnancy and was advised I could have a cerclage if need be. Everything was fine until I went in for routine prenatal ultrasound at MFM at 24 weeks. They found that there was no cervix left and I had to have a cerclage placed. I had my daughter at 38 weeks 5 days by scheduled CS. I would say, discuss your past pregnancy history with your midwife/gynecologist. They will let you know your options.

My first arrived at 28 weeks (I was leaking fluid on and off from 21 weeks although no one believed me) and my second arrived at 37+3 both labours started spontaneously. I was watched very closely with my second pregnancy though

Asked heal baby care app and sharing in case it helps: "It's understandable to have concerns about the possibility of premature rupture of membranes (PROM) happening again in a subsequent pregnancy. While having PROM in a previous pregnancy can increase the risk of it occurring again, many women go on to have healthy pregnancies without complications. According to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, factors such as your overall health, the reason for the PROM, and any interventions taken during your first pregnancy can play a role in your next pregnancy. It's important to discuss your specific situation with your healthcare provider, who can offer personalized advice based on your medical history. Have you had any follow-up appointments or discussions with your doctor about your plans for a second pregnancy?"

My son was born 34 week due to pprom in 2020, and I now have a 16 month old who was born at 38+4 via a c section. I won’t lie I had a rough second pregnancy as my waters went at 20 weeks but the re-sealed! Long strong but my cervix dropped below 1.5cm so I had a stitch they think that’s what caught my waters. Anyway we made it with amazing help from Milton Keynes and Oxford hospital! Xx
