I missed my period

I don't know if it's possible to get pregnant 5days to your period? I'm really confused here I haven't done a pregnancy test cos I was expecting my period I had an unprotected sex 5days to my period cos I taught to myself I was safe now I can't find my period I saw some spots early this morning I am 43yrs and I have a son , he is 16months Please can someone help me cos I am scared of doing a pregnancy test

It's not likely, but it's not unheard of to ovulate late.. with my youngest I had ovulated 9 days late!

Cycles are often irregular for awhile after you have a baby. It could be that you ovulated late and then ended up having sex during your fertile window and now you're pregnant, or it could just be that you ovulated late so your period isn't actually due yet. I would take a pregnancy test, but if it has actually only been 5 days since you ovulated, it's still too early for it to be accurate.

It’s not a precise science unfortunately. You can ovulate anytime in a month. They’re saying that abortion rates are up as people are just relying on dates on apps instead of taking temperature, mucus and until they know their body ovulation test. Of course sprm lives for five days so any action on the days leading up can also cause a pregnancy even after that

Anytime you have unprotected sex, you could get pregnant because you never know if you ovulate late or close to that date since the sperm can survive a few days. Might as well test so you know and can make whatever decisions you need to.
