Coming down with a cold…

I can feel myself coming down with a cold. Have a really sore throat, sniffly and achey :( Annoying, think I picked this up at the doctors during little ones 8 week jabs! I’m really worried about passing this onto baby. I’m trying to be careful but she’s with me all the time and she’s obviously in close proximity! Washing my hands even more than before!! I’m breastfeeding so I think this gives baby a good level of antibodies. Has anybody come down with anything since having baby where baby has avoided it?

My 2 year old had an awful cold and sore throat and ended up with tonsillitis. Somehow we managed to avoid him passing it on to his sister despite him coughing and sneezing all over her multiple times 😅 as you are breastfeeding I would cover her face with your top whilst feeding in case you cough or sneeze. Washing hands regularly will also help a lot as you’ve mentioned x

My toddler has been sick a few times since baby has been born and so far she hasn’t caught any of them. She’s also breastfed so I think it does help as my toddler has been all over the baby even when we try to keep her away from the baby.

Thank you both.. that’s reassuring ☺️ glad your little little ones got away with it! x

I've had an awful cold for the past couple of weeks and although baby has sneezed a bit, I think she's avoided it for the most part somehow as she's been fine otherwise

My toddler caught a cold a few days after we got home with our baby and he caught it too at 2 weeks old. He was congested and had a cough but overall he was okay. I just gave him the calpol nasal spray and used a snot sucker! I did take baby to the doctors to check him over and they weren’t worried! Hope you’re okay and baby gets away with not catching it ☺️ x
