@Cerys that's a good idea, I might get some.
I’ve started putting bits in my in-laws loft 🤣 I’m aware I won’t be able to do it with everything but I’m trying to get some of the bigger bits in there. I’m also getting vacuum pack bags for clothes!
You can use clingfilm to wrap the bigger items so they don’t get dusty in the loft x
Besides vacuum pack/tucking things away, we also lent out our big items to friends as the timing of our babies worked out well and then we got it back a bit before number 2 arrived.
I turn old baby clothes into memory quilts if anyone’s interested ☺️
@Bella I was thinking of doing that, but I'm waiting towards her 1st birthday. Where do you live.
We kept all the main things. Then I only kept my favorite clothes. It can get out of hand lol For our second we didn’t need to get anything. Except some girly clothes as we had a girl second time around. We didn’t keep things like bottles unless they were unused.
Yes throw your bottles away - they should be replaced every few months anyway so definitely won’t be good to use after being stored for that long. Also throw away bibs, muslins, dummies, teethers. We also found that even though we deep cleaned our high chair before storing, it was gross and unusable after years of storage. Things that have food on them regularly, are in mouths etc just don’t. Buy new for every baby. It’s also strongly advised to buy new mattress for every baby.
Think I'll try to sell large items I got second hand. Like the moses basket. Everything else will be kept because we may want a second :) vacuum seal and into the loft.
I was thinking of selling some items as well. We got 2nd hand moses basket, I'm happy to give out for free. I think I will start getting rid of the bottle.
I literally saved everything from my first pregnancy with my little boy, luckily we have loads of space at my mum and dads. I then went onto have a girl 🤣 but my aunty was pregnant too and was having a boy so o gave her all the boy clothes, kept the neutral and then things like the bouncer/walker they’re jungle themed and car themed but she will still use those. I’m not going out and buying a girly version just for the sake of a couple months worth of use!
If you thinking of selling you can sell them on vinted
I literally stored like 3 boxes and some vacuum bags in the loft! We ended up with no2 way sooner than we planned so they weren't up there for long, but it's so nice seeing photos side by side in the same clothes!! The only thing I got rid of and replaced was pump parts, teether style toys, bottles and dummies!
We have good storage at the moment bur we are planning to buy soon so worried about keeping a lot. Where I live they do this 2nd hand baby market thing and you can buy a table to sell. I might try it out.
I got some vacuum pack bags from amazon to store clothing
