End of September 😊
I do but only from certain people. If you smoke or have pets in your home no. My sister got rid of all my nephews things but I’ve asked her to start keeping some for when my boys get older.
Yes! My fiancé step grandma gave me hand me downs from her friend because her grandchild outgrew them. Beautiful BEAUTIFUL dresses! Even a handmade dress. I’ve never went wrong with getting clothes from others that their kid grew out of. Just wash them good.
@Daija yeah I wouldn’t if someone smokes in the home or pets. I’m allergic to cats lol no amount of laundry detergent would help 😬
I also love hand me downs for me. If someone says I'm going through my stuff you can look if there is anything you want. I might kiss them. I go through my mom and grandmas stuff whenever I visit lmao
Yes. Babies grow so fast I feel it’s not worth it to pay for so many new clothes they probably will wear a few times. It’s helpful.
I love hand me downs. I'm a little pickier about garage sale stuff but if someone I know gives me stuff I love it!
Heck yea my coworker pretty much dressed my first kid until he was 4 🤣
Yes! I did with my first and we were set for a whole year along with diapers. It’s semi the same with my second baby (5 months old) and is also stocked on diapers too from newborn to size 6.
I do but only from a low to no scent home ( im sensitive to smells) and from non smokers. I just made a bag of girl clothes from sizes 0-12mths old that im giving to a friend who is having a girl in September. Shes making me a bag for our son due in October. It'll help us both not waste money and the clothes get reused!
Yes we love hand me downs! I'm 14 (almost 15) weeks pregnant and someone lent me a baby swing that's in great condition, which is helpful because it's one less thing we have to pay for 😊
I've got no choice but to like them because most of my son's clothes are 2nd hand that my mum bought him. If they are good enough quality that they look brand new, then I haven't got a problem, though.
@Rema same I’m allergic to cats and dogs and have asthma so it’s not worth the fight
They grow so fast, and at the cost of everything its amazing to be able to do that. I say go for it

I love love love when people give me bags of clothes. I love see how loved the clothes are. Knowing their baby got to live and play in them and now my baby gets to. I also love being able to help other moms by giving my baby clothes
Why not use hand me downs? I take hand me downs of practically anything I can get my hands on as long as it's in good condition. Why waste new materials when most kids stuff is only used for a very short period? Nearly all of my sons clothes are secondhand from a friend who had 2 boys and then passed clothes to me. Highchair, baby swing, bottle warmer, 2 baby carriers, stroller, sit to stand walker toy, tons of books, and the craddle were all secondhand not to mention the stuff my parents kept from when I was a kid. Stuff that goes in his mouth (bottles, pacifiers, teethers), mattress, and car seat are the only things I care about being new.
Of course! Why would u give away all of your clothes 😣
@Erin I didn’t have enough space 😣 my apartment is small. I honestly thought I wouldn’t get pregnant again in the near future. I didn’t throw them away though. My mom found a mom that’s having a boy and she gave it all away to her.
@Kate I agree with you! I gave away my son’s bouncer seat when I gave all of his baby stuff away. I used that thing for about 2 months lol so why not give it someone that needs it?
@Zainab🗝️ haha meanwhile my mom would go through my closet 🤣 and she’s like you never wear this and I’m like I don’t like it. And she’s like I’ll take it lmao
Yes of course! Idk why anyone wouldn’t take hand me downs, especially with baby clothes and all the baby stuff, they grow out of it SO fast so it’s extremely wasteful to consider all of it like short term uses in my opinion, I just had a boy and got his crib used off Facebook marketplace and basically all of his clothes from my sister who’s son is only a year older 😅 only thing new was his car seat for safety reasons lol and we aren’t hurting for money like that it’s just a sustainability thing that stresses me out
Most of my kids clothes for their first year of life were hand me downs lol 🤷♀️
I’m abit skeptics about hand me downs from external people. Just people have different beliefs in their home. But i have kept my sons stuff from newborn incase he were to have a sibling.
I have, but I do have some restrictions I set in place. Pet/Smoke free homes only And nearly new items. No vests/intimate items. No footwear unless new with tags. My little ones' clothes are put into suction bags for potential fuure child, or sold/given to charity
Yes! I love second hand anything. A lady at my husbands work we barely know turnt up a few months ago and handed him a huge bag full of clothes and said “I think your daughter is a few years younger than mine so here you go!” And it was full of gorgeous clothes. We got her a thank you gift and he found out her daughter’s actual age and I got her something to say thank you too. Clothes and toys can all be sterilised and washed properly. As long as they are in good condition it’s just helpful. I pass all my daughters nice stuff (some special things I keep for her future kids) to my best friend as her daughter is a year younger. Saves clothes going to waste! Things are expensive now
I do although second time round brought bundles off fb. They arnt in them long. My dad never liked hand me downs on me and my brother because he grew up in a single parent household in the 50s and everything was second hand.
Why’s he not like the concept of it? It’s helping the planet, kids dirty up clothes in 10 seconds, a lot of them look barely worn, it’s saving money, I don’t understand when people are against it tbh. 👍🏽
Worked at a school and a parent donated A TON of clothes and baby items including toys, stroller, highchair etc. and at the time I was so overwhelmed with it all and wasn’t sure if I was even gonna use any of it and I’m so glad I did! Kids grow out of things so quickly it put my mind at ease that I had it. And I could save money and reuse!♻️ if there was anything in particular I could buy it but in the long run I really didn’t need it
My sister had been saving clothes for us since her now 5 year old started growing out of his stuff. My baby is 16 months and we still have boxes of clothes for him to grow into. We did still buy some new things but it was really nice not to worry about clothes for so long. And when we are done with his clothes, we've boxed some up to save and have shared some with friends who have babies a bit younger. It saves so much money getting things second hand. And it's been fun finding pictures of my nephew in the same clothes my baby is wearing now.

I almost solely do this. We have been fortunate to be gifted a ton of hand me down clothes from friends and family. We have not had to spend more than $100 on clothes for our girls collectively.
I take hand me downs and use them for nursery clothes - meaning i don’t have to spend money on clothes that are guaranteed to get trashed. We’ve saved his own clothes we buy as hand me downs for future children xx
Yep. My little ones cousin is week younger but 3 sizes bigger so we have all her clothes. Why spend a fortune buying it when I can get use out of there’s (barely worn as she grows like a weed where as my little is tiny for her age)
I love hand me downs. My girls have a whole wardrobe for the next 2 sizes up.
Yess I love hand me downs whether it's baby clothes or even women's clothes. My town, we all help each other out with anything we need! You got some extra food you don't want to waste? You got some shoes still in good condition but not your style anymore? You have extra shampoo that you forgot you had? Shoot, we all literally help one another in this economy and I love it.
Good condition I love. I also get things second hand on Vinted. Saves a fortune and babies clothes are barely worn before being grown out of with LOADS of life left in them. Do the same with my step son.
My partner would prefer new though but I think from his point of view he wears his clothes until they're rags 🤦🏻♀️
Yes! It’s so expensive to buy I’m more than happy to accept hand me downs. Tbf I also lived in hand me downs as a child
Hand me downs are the best! Especially for baby clothes
They grow so fast so why not lol I’ve actually given so much of my sons clothes away and some was in great condition.
I have a 5 month old daughter and the only completely new clothes we had for her were her first 6 outfits (c-section, stayed 4 days in the hospital). Baby stuff is so expensive that I don’t see why someone wouldn’t like some hand me downs. No judging!! But as someone unemployed I do appreciate all the help I can get with stuff for her
@Sam I love this so much! I wish I could live somewhere like this 🥰
My husband felt the same way. I always gave our children clothes to others. They are expensive! I have a weirdness that I like knowing where our stuff is going. All the second hand stores seem to charge almost as much as regular stores!! I always found that boy clothes were hard to find from anyone!
@Maisie same. The kids always grow faster than the amount of clothes we always bought!
Yes but depending on where it’s from, ie I will look in charity shops but I won’t buy if they have marks/pet hair 🤦🏼♀️ and I’m selective in what I buy, I also get offered/given things from friends and family and occasionally online if I see a bargain, Vinted is a go to place but you can get cheap items with tags that are new so that’s my usual place, but for hand me downs I do have things I looks for ie non smokers/pets/ No underwear items (pants/vests/socks) I won’t buy secondhand shoes or keep them if given even if it’s close family and before my child goes in anything I get, I check it over, and I wash it sometimes I wash things twice 🤣🤦🏼♀️ I also get toys second hand but I make sure I can wash them ie we got given mega blocks and I ran a bath and washed each one 🤦🏼♀️ so yes I do but I’m just selective xx
I love hand me downs! What is your due date?
