Get the baby out the car.. even if it wasn't the law I'm not leaving my baby in the car
I just make sure I lock the car and go and pay. If it's hot I'll fill up, then turn the car back on so the aircon is on and pay, but my car has push button ignition, so I can leave it running and lock the car and take the keys with me. I had two under two, so there's no way I'm getting them both out of the car (I normally get petrol while they're both asleep, so would have to wake them up as well), in the double pram etc to spend 30 seconds paying for petrol. If I couldn't leave the car running and lock it and take the keys with me, I'd probably just fill up when hubby is home and can watch the kids. But if I'm out on a day trip without him, they stay in the car
I try to fill up when I don’t have the kids or when my partner is in the car too. If I have to fill up with them both and no partner, I take them (age 1 and 3) with me. It’s tedious but not worth the risk IMO
BP has an app where you can pay without having to go inside otherwise it’s taking the child out with you to pay 💖
There’s a few around that have a pay at pump option. That’s what I do. There’s one on plenty road in mill park if you’re in that area.
I heard someone talking on a podcast about Ampol. They have a pay at pump feature where you can pay through the app after you’ve filled up so you don’t need to go inside. You can just fill up, jump back in the car and pay for the fuel via that app. If you have an Ampol nearby it could be worth looking into. Hope this helps xx
