My 16.5 month old tells us (sometimes) when her diaper is wet or she feels like she is about to pee. We got a potty seat for her and have been able to get her to go on it once or twice every day or two. She’s very excited about it and gets insistent that she NEEDS to go to the potty. We’re thinking that this coming weekend we might do one of those intensive potty training few days where you have them go diaper-less whenever they’re in the house and try to consistently get them to go on the potty. I’m hopeful that since she’s interested it might actually work! I can update here how it goes!
@Megan Otte yes please do!! My son tells me most of the time after he's pooped but not pee that I've noticed. I also feel like he still pees pretty often. Though his bladder is getting stronger, I think I'd like to see longer periods of time with a dry diaper.
My son is peeing in the potty often and enjoys it. He's only 💩 in the potty once but that was super exciting. I'm hoping he's completely potty trained before his baby sister gets here. I'm due in late August.
We have a potty, but she hasn’t used it. She’s started sitting in it when I use the restroom. Today she told me “I have to poop.” I should’ve put her on the potty but didn’t want to force it. She did in fact poop. Pretty sure it’s time over here.
My 17 month son will tell us when he wants his diaper changed if we haven’t got there first. He definitely acts interested in his little potty and even the big toilet. But every time I try to sit him down he acts scared? I noticed if his diaper is off and he pees it also scares him? right now I’m trying to teach without forcing him to try it if he’s not ready.
We have a bluey training potty that we are working on siting on whenever. She will pretend potty but gets very upset about sitting on it without her diaper. Sooooo at the very beginning of this journey.
