How i can get my almost 2 year old off the sippy cup

I leave a plastic cup in the bathroom and my son practices sipping from the big cup some times I have him hold the sides of the cup so I would say just practice having him use a big cup and as he builds confidence, he’ll be more ready to use the big boy cup

Also practice how much water they can drink…..

@Donna katzen he won't even try hardly anything else just the cup he wants to use i have boughten him several kinds he use it once or twice and then won't touch it again

We use different cups. He has a milk cup of juice cup nuby the one with the straw sticking up, and a water bottle. I got him the yeti I have one for him and one for me. We do chairs when we drink water. It’s pretty cute, but I highly recommend the yeti because it’s leak proof keeps the water cool and has a built-in straw.

What kind of sippy cup? I just ask bc I’ve seen some people refer to a weighted straw cup as a sippy cup.

My son will only drink milk from a soft spot one and I told him few more weeks and its gone lol. He loves all cups for water but the dang milk just hits differently in that cup😬

@Hily oh ok. Does he know how to use a straw at all? Have you tried an open cup or 360 cup? If you stop offering the sippy cup he will eventually use another cup. He probably knows you’ll give in.

Yes I have bought him same brand as above with a straw this time but he just ignores it. But will drink outta my cup he does use the one above to sleep with but hes chewing through the top so I'm ready to be done with it ya know and yeah your probably right I think we are both just struggling with the transition

I just recently found a cup at Walmart that teaches them to drink from an open cup. My son couldn’t ever figure out the 360 cups but this cup is clear hard plastic and has an insert that slows the flow so they tip it like a normal cup but don’t get an overwhelming amount of liquid

Small open cup with half or less water in it and straw cup bottle .

360 is an in between for open cup training but it's weird to drink from so I cleaned those and bagged them . We've never used them

Id say clean the sippy and simply stop offering it as an option
