Miscarriage

Hi All. I’m new here. 🥹 It was confirmed earlier on this week that I am having a miscarriage, this is now my 3rd so I have now been referred to the recurrent miscarriage clinic. I have been told the current wait time is around 3-6 months, maybe more. I feel like I am stuck in limbo on what to do, whether to take the risk and keep going or whether it’s best to wait until we’re seen. I’ve been told in terms of medication (progesterone etc), if I were to fall pregnant before our initial appointment, it’s unlikely that they will be able to give this to me. (I was prescribed progesterone when I was pregnant with my son) so that will leave me at risk of potential miscarriage again. Can you please share your stories on what you did, did you take the risk? was it a success? did you get given medication? did you wait till you were seen before trying again? Thanks in advance x

I’m so sorry for your loss , it took me 5 months to be seen at recurrent mc clinic meanwhile I was told if I caught pregnant in the meantime I had to ring epu explain I was waiting on an appointment for r.m.c and they would prescribe progesterone x

@Paige Hi Paige, the nurse at EPU said they wouldn’t look to give it to me if I were to fall pregnant before my initial appointment so I am really torn on what to do as ideally I don’t want to be waiting months and months on end to be seen 😢 xxx

Oh really , we’re do you live ? I’m Uk Other suggestion is going private like we did . They gave us a prescription for progesterone on repeat , I was told my initial wait could be up to 18 months for r.m.c and we didn’t want to wait that long so we went private in the dec and finally got seen in the match by rmc but I already had the private one just to cover me if I got pregnant x

Which clinic is it that you are referred to?

@Paige I’m UK too. ☺️ I am considering going private as their availability is so much sooner. How did your initial appointment go? Would you mind if I private messaged you? xx

@Ljubljana Smith I am not entirely sure yet as the referral was only sent to my local recurrent miscarriage clinic on Monday x

No of course babe pop me a message x
