How to warm up formula bottle

Is it ok to microwave my sons bottles (BEFORE the formula is put in) - here’s more info: In Australia there is no information on “sterilizing formula” and we do not put formula into boiling water to sterilize it. It’s never been a thing & it’s not written on any formula container instructions so I’m not looking for anyone to make this comment as it is irrelevant in my country. Here’s how I make bottles: 1. Sterilize bottles 2. Pour boiling water into bottles 3. Let them cool & use them during the day 4. Warm up when needed & formula put in. My question is, Can I heat the water up in the microwave before I put the formula in OR should it ONLY be warmed up using hot water (or a bottle warmer)? I understand formula shouldn’t be microwaved, so I am asking specifically about the water (which was already boiled in the morning). Tia x

I would say it’s okay? We use boiled water in the UK as we have to steralise the formula so the hot water has to be above a certain temp but if that’s not what you do in your country I’d say it’s absolutely fine to warm water in the microwave as it doesn’t need to reach a certain temp to be considered “safe”! I’d just give the bottle a good swirl to make sure there aren’t any hot spots of water xx

@Leona thanks! Yes I always swirl a lot and after I put the formula in I shake like a fucking mad man and test the temp 😂💀

Yes , just give it a mix before you put formula in and test temperature. X

@India I definitely do. I swirl & then after I put formula in I shake like crazy and then I test the temperature xx

My favorite thing was a baby water boiling pitcher thing. It's like a electric tea pot for baby water. Ide boil the water which would take 60 seconds. And then leave it on the warm setting. Or you can take a few ounces of boiled water and mix in cold sterilized bottle water making perfect warm water in like 1 minute.

As long as the bottles your using are microwaveable, it should be fine. Don't leave the top on though, just put the bottom with water in.
