Potty training

We dedicated this weekend to potty training and he is doing pretty well. Still naked on day 2. Going to add clothes tomorrow but he will NOT go commando. He keeps saying he has a wedgie. Anyone do underwear right away? What was your experience? And daycare requires pull-ups. I’m so nervous it’s going to undo everything we have been doing.

We just potty trained a few weeks ago and we did the hanes training underwear that are real undies but a liner that absorbs and makes them feel uncomfortable, but also less mess for you to clean up. There was a couple times where he went full party in them and there was still just a little bit on the ground that I had to clean up so that was really nice. We only used training diapers/pull-ups when we drove long distances and overnight. Over the course of the last week or so it went from just full potty in the underwear too just like a little start trickle in there and then running to the potty to now letting us know before he has to go that he has to go potty. I skipped the nude stage because he is the same way and he will not be nude and run around naked he will yell at me to put pants on lol

I personally don’t like pull-ups for potty training and most drs I have seen talk about potty training say not to use them since the absorb the wetness and they won’t feel what it feels like when they are wet so it is harder to potty train them. We switched from diapers to underwear my son personally chooses boxers over regular undies so we got him baby boxers. We only use diapers for bedtime. My kid also doesn’t mind being naked tho and has seen his dad & uncle go potty in the backyard and will potty outside so we allow him to use the toilet or the yard to potty.

My daycare is good with undies inside the pull ups so they can feel it but don't make a mess everywhere. That's what we are trying at home also.

We went straight to underwear and never did naked, commando, or pull ups. My son did well with that! We did pull ups just overnight, but he doesn’t tend to go in there, they’re dry in the morning. My son also does daycare but they discourage the use of pull ups. I think the consistency of underwear has helped him. ☺️

We did undies right away during the day but he is in a pull up at night still. He loves his underwear but also doesn’t mind being commando lol. Our daycare was good with wearing underwear and worked with him to go at daycare.
