Inherent racism?

I want to have an open (hopefully friendly) discussion about inherent racism, what it is what is expected of "white people" I honestly am just trying to learn more. I was recently told I need to accept my inherent racism before I can not be racist? But I'm not racist... I don't think any race is above or better I don't think any person should put themselves above anyone for anything race, money, power, etc... I try hard not to stereotype or generalize anyone.. I just want to understand this thinking a little more.

Most often we have racist habitual thoughts taught to is by society and we might not realize theyre there until they slip out. We have to be open to realizing we might have beliefs that are grounded in systematic racism. Racism is not a slur, if you are trying to be anti racist the word should make you uncomfortable but not defensive because you can look at your actions with a new lense and learn. It took me to my MA to realize being colorblind is racist to. And its ok because I'm determined to do better now

I get what you’re saying Lauren it’s like if people were trying to get you to say your cheater. But your not and have never cheated. But you have had thoughts about it or what it may have looked like if you did. Or maybe you stood by when one of your friends chose to And didn’t ask her why she was choosing this path. I personally wouldn’t want to accept that label either it feels unfair to be grouped with people who actually truly have cheated. Maybe there is another way for us to acknowledge our place of growth and how we want to show the world we are doing our part to improve it. I hope my analogy worked. And didn’t offend you. I love using analogies they always help me and my partner find better more common ground. I also use them a lot when I’m teaching dance classes. Please feel free to let me know your thoughts. ❤️
