Third pregnancy after two miscarriages. How do I cope with the anxiety?

3rd pregnancy after 2 mc🥺👼. Currently 13 weeks this is the furthest I have ever got! I have been having scans weekly pretty much up until now as my anxiety is so high....hoping the anxiety and the multiple scans will not have bad effects on baby :(? This baby is very much wanted and loved already.

Massive congratulations 🥳😍 I waited a long time to be blessed with my baby too ... easier said then done but try to relax as much as possible, do things you enjoy, get plenty of fresh air and enjoy it! What is meant to be, will be, think positively and good things will come to you! x

Congratulations to you also! Thats what I keep telling myself, things are out of my control...I think that's what's scary xx

I share your emotions. I had 3 miscarriages and now I’m currently 28 weeks... The anxiety unfortunately never went away for me, lol but keep positive vibes you got this momma 😍

Horrible isn't it :(! Its sad that pregnancy Will never be an enjoyable time after miscarriages. But positive thoughts bring positive things! Thank you, congregations on yours!xx

Same! Had 3 miscarriages before my first healthy baby (he was born in July). I was suuuupee anxious throughout the whole pregnancy and he is very healthy and hitting all of his milestones. You’ll both be great!

Yay! Congratulations! I’m so excited for you! I wish I could just say don’t worry but that’s not what mommies do. But try to stay excited this is a wonderful journey you don’t want to miss anything. I’ve had many miscarriages and never got past 15 weeks. I actually miscarried in December then again in February and conceived my boys in March. And even with my health issues and tiny body we had a good pregnancy. It wasn’t without some scares but nothing serious happened. I understand the anxiety, I had so much. But it won’t necessarily harm your babe. It’s not ideal but it’s not going to cause another miscarriage either. You just do your best and what you think is right for you both and you will be golden!! 😘

Congratulations, I’m feeling the same as you, just reached over 13 weeks myself after 3 previous losses with this being the furthest too. I’ve had three scans along the way so far and going to book another one for week 16 xx

Scary isn't it! I think its because its out of our control, obviously as well as the previous history we have been through 👼❤ I wish you all the luck in the world with your pregnancy 🙂 I'm.sure you'll be fine xx

I had 3 miscarriages I have a healthy little girl and just found out I'm pregnant again 7 months after giving birth your gooing great mummy

Horrible! I understand you where probably scared during the pregnancy with your little.girl, are you able to enjoy this new pregnancy now? Or are you scared? I feel like all pregnancies will now be terrifying. Thank you, and congratulations ❤❤

Im, still so anxious but I had my 12 scan date come through im now getting excited and I'm going to talk to the doctors about a earlier scan

Congratulations ❤️🥰😘

It’s really hard I didn’t relax properly until the baby was in my arms but I think it starts getting easier once you feel them kicking. I was consultant led and had gestational diabetes so I think all the extra checks helped too.

I don't think I'm going to.be able to relax properly until then either! I've had so many extra scans x

I had two miscarriages before my daughter was born. With her we had so many scans because it was high risk due to previous losses and some other medical reasons. It helped ease my anxiety. and she was totally fine. The worry didn’t vanish until she was safely in my arms. And even then it shifted to a different kind of worry mixed with extreme relief. I just kept telling myself that worrying doesn’t change anything. And I kept telling my baby that she was very loved and very wanted. Praying for you! Hang in there. I know it’s so hard.

And yes it does get easier when you can feel them kick! You’re so close ❤️

Ah here they don't class you as high risk until you have 3 in a row. I'm glad your daughter arrived safely! Yeah I think I'm going to be the same if I'm honest, I think I'm not going to be truly settled until the baby is here :( I have been told this is only the start of my worries!🤣 thank you for your reply. Fingers crossed! I have a scan in roughly 2 weeks to find out the gender so ill try and look forward to that x

You have to calm down stress will negatively affect the babies development

That’s not really helpful to say. For me personally, it just stressed me out more when people said things like this.

Easier said than done :(

Hey hun, I’m an awful worrier and really paranoid, I however have only had one miscarriage and that was 10 years ago but I have had bleeding in this pregnancy and now I stress everyday at baby’s health. I had an emergency scan at 6 weeks, then a reassurance scan at 8.4 weeks then my 12 week scan but I was actually measuring 13 weeks, I’ve just booked a reassurance scan for this week as I’ve just got out the doctors surgery and have a really bad infection which can cause miscarriage if untreated to which it’s already been untreated for over a week 😔 I already have a other scan booked for 16 weeks for my gender, I’ll be 15 weeks on Friday xx

So by the time I’m 20 weeks I would have already had 5 scans 😬 not sure if it’s any good to baby but without the scans I’ll be worried sick x

Its awful isn't it the anxiety it causes :(. Think it's because our babies are very much wanted! Hope your reassurance scan goes well, fingers crossed! I'm 14 weeks tomorrow and have had 6 scans already! Will be having a gender scan also so that will be 7 scans before 20 weeks! What are we like aye. Congratulations to you xx

I was worried about the same thing. I have a 17 month old and a 4 month old. When I was 20 weeks or so I had the anatomy scan where they check the whole body head to toe and it was probably an hr long. It was the roughest ultrasound I ever had and I was very anxious! I thought the baby would have brain damage it was that hard. I kept googling. All I could do was pray. She was fine:) my 17 month old I had an ultrasound every 3-4 weeks the whole pregnancy. He was fine. So please try not to worry. Hope this helps. Congrats:)

Ah congrats and sorry for your losses!! Hoping this will be my take home baby! Maybe they will offer you an early scan as you don't know how far gone you are ?xx

Congrats on your pregnancy. I am 25 weeks and had a miscarriage last year 10 days before Xmas.... it wasn't a very happy Xmas for me last year. I have been the same, regular ultrasounds, only to keep my mind at ease from the anxiety. There is no radiation in ultrasound scans, and no harm in scanning baby! It's completely safe

Aw sorry for your loss but congrats on your new pregnancy! I send all the best wishes to you you in the world. Yeah quite a few people have told me that they are safe. But when I talk to my midwife she doesn't seem to keen!xx

God Bless! Hoping everything works out

Thank you ❤

I have incredibly high anxiety (naturally) that was heightened during pregnancy, I didnt have anything negative come out of it and I was extremely stressed. My advice would be to try and ground yourself, but if thats not doable I dont think it will be a big deal. I had gotten tons of scans as well, to ease my nerves, and I havent seen anything negative come from it (I am 27 weeks). Congrats on your beautiful baby! I hope everything goes spectacular! ❤️🎉

Pregnancy definitely sends you through your emotions! Especially if you have anxiety anyway...thank you so much, congrats on your pregnancy too!xx

I had a miscarriage and got pregnant right after D and C was done. I was truly stressed the entire pregnancy and worried even when he begin moving. Once I was able to hold my baby boy my stress was relieved.

Aw. Sorry for your loss, I'm glad you got your take home baby soon after! I think that's when I will truly relax...when my baby is in my arms xxx

I feel for you I have been there! I had my first baby after 2 previous miscarriages and I had been trying for years to get pregnant. I was terrified all the way through and i had to have extra scans etc but everything was fine. Once you are past 12 weeks the risk goes down by a lot. I now have a very healthy active toddler. Congratulations on your little bean

It gets easier once you start to feel movement as you get to know your baby's patterns so you learn what is normal and what isnt and it is always reassuring to feel those little kicks

Thanks for your reply. Its such a scary time. I think after a miscarriage your never fully able to enjoy pregnancies. It takes away the happiness a little bit. Aw I'm.glad you have your happy toddler! I hope this will be my take home baby xxx

I had 2 miscarriages before I gave birth to my son last September. I was anxious for most of my pregnancy. I would cry and worry all the time. Maybe you could ask your doctor to come in for routine bloodwork? That will put your mind at ease 💜

Aw sorry for your losses but congrats on the birth of your son! Thats exactly what I am like.... I actually feel as if I'm going crazy at time. Its awful ..never thought of that... I was thinking about purchasing a doppler today.. not sure if its a good idea or not xx

I tried to conceive for 4 years and finally found out in January that I was pregnant, unfortunately I found out in Feb I had missed miscarriage (no heart beat 8w ultrasound). We got really lucky I found out in June I was pregnant after only one cycle. I am 22+6w and im constantly worried. Any time I can't feel her moving I worry, I cry for no reason and im on edge all the time because I feel like I'm going to lose her. You're not alone... I'm so sorry you feel like this mumma, here to our little miracles 💜

Definitely not alone and you can message me any time you like 🥰

Aw the worry is awful, I'm so glad I'm not alone in all of this!! I have shedded so many tears!! So excited for you and have every faith this will be your take home baby!xx

Hi Lucy I completely understand how you feel. I lost 12 pregnancies and two babies to premature labour and now have a healthy, happy, amazing four month old, currently being given her milk by her dad after waking up half an hour after being put to bed, while I have a glass of wine!! I NEVER thought I would get here, but I have and you will too. Don’t have anymore scans after you get to 20 weeks and try not to worry too much. Getting past 12 weeks is an amazing achievement. If this baby is destined for this world it will happen and all the worry won’t change it. I know it’s easy to say, but take hope from my story and wishing you all the luck in the world xxx

Aww that’s so sweet. Thank you. I will keep everything crossed for you. One thing the sonographer told me that stuck with me as I was literally having a scan a week, is that if you are an anxious mum you will create an anxious baby, that advice helped me to stop my scanning obsession and just try and focus on being healthy and enjoying my pregnancy xxx

Firstly can I just say wow what an amazing woman you are for continuing after all that heart ache❤ Aw I has a nose at your profile and she is adorable. I'm so so happy for you 😘 I had one last Friday i am now going to try and wait for my gender scan which is 2 weeks today, it will be hard but hopefully I can do it. Then after that will be my 20 week scan and I hope by then I will be settled a bit. You are such an insperation ❤ Thank you so much xx

Sending you love ❤️

Hi lovely, I’m sorry you’re having a tough time. I have been very anxious too after a miscarriage and taking a long time to conceive again, but now feeling a bit better as I’m 18 weeks and have started to feel movement! I have found this book really helpful if you haven’t come across it: Pregnancy After Loss: A day-by-day plan to reassure and comfort you https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/1409195945/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_-ohLFb32ZH6JZ It’s not out yet as a proper book but you can buy as an ebook already. It’s definitely brought me comfort ❤️

I am so very ssorry for your losses and congratulations on this baby ♥ your Gp and midwife should bbe supportive for you about your physical and mental well being you caan also contact a therapist juust to take the edge of these understandably negative feelings and worries. Big congratulations to getting to 13 weeks xx

Well I MADE IT TO MY 20 WEEK SCAN ❤😀. baby is healthy and such a little wriggler. I think this Time might be my time❤ Feeling so blessed.

My anxiety has been vile and I had lots of scans at the start. Hypnobirthing really helped me ground myself xx
