I had my baby boy in a birth center with a midwife. I moved internationally mid pregnancy and had to pick a care provider over the internet, all communication via email. Was kinda stressful but I’m so glad I ended up where I did. They were really in line with what I wanted. Low interventions and as much as I could drug free, wasn’t sure how I would feel on the day 😅 but I did it! Phase 1 labor from 5:30am and then pushing at 5:30pm and out into my arms at 9:06 pm. Tried sooooo many pushing positions it was crazy. I said “I can do this” and then 30 mins later I said “I don’t think I can do this after all” it was crazy but so happy it worked out the way it did and I am so glad I got to experience what it is to birth a child without toning it down. I feel like that was such a beautiful way to become a mother.
Sooo not my story (I’m due in August) BUT one of my friends with four kids was telling me about how she progressively had a more natural birth with each kid and her most recent birth was completely natural at home. With the last babe and no medication she was up and walking around holding her babe and everyone was like “how are you just up rn!?” Lol. But she just felt so good and had so much clarity and of course without the epidural or other meds, she tore soooo much less and got to take her time so her body, physically, was put through so much less trauma 🙏🏼 I’ve heard so many stories personally from mamas who had incredible natural births 💗
My birth couldn’t have gone better I think!! My labor was 2 hours & 13 minutes pushing! I had a 2nd degree tear and omg I was EXTREMELY scared of stitches but they’re painless. They put numbing cream before the numbing medicine and I didn’t feel a thing. It also numb down there temporarily which was a relief lol. When I was 37 weeks pregnant my midwife said I could start inserting primose oil vaginally daily which helps with cervix tearing because it softens it!! I also did raspberry leaf tea which I think shortened labor considering I’m 19 and had a 2 hour labor only! I was going to do waterbirth but before the water could warm up but my body started pushing uncontrollably so they said I could do shower instead:) which was unique. So my beautiful baby girl was born 7 lbs 7 oz on April 7th in the hospital shower natural 💞 and let me tell you YOU GOT THIS it’s so much easier than u set yourself up for. And if it doesn’t go as planned it’s gonna be ok. Every baby is different
I had a water birth for my 2nd child, I loved it. Though I got too hot while in labor only to freeze just after lol. I plan on a water birth at home this go round.
