Degenerating fibroid

Hi all I'm 26 weeks and currently suffering with a large fibroid that is starting to break down and die due to a lack of blood supply. Has anyone else experienced this? How did you manage with the pain?

Hi Cherelle, I got detected with a fibroid at around 18 weeks, that was not degenerating. I suffered with lot of pain for 4 days, later it got subsided. These remedies helped me ; though the pain was same. I used to stay in a same position sitting or lying which was comfortable, I took 2 tylenos every 8 hours. I also used hot (not too hot) compress or hot water bath. Try to have a light diet yet healthy with lot of fruits, because I was not able to walk or exercise. Praying for your good health and strength to you. Don't worry, if it is degenerating, its for good. Take care 🙂

Thanks the degenerating of it is just causing so much pain its unbearable 😫. I'm 26wks and some days can't even walk and just scared to take the number of drugs I've been prescribed but have to take them to get through the day. Have also had a stage of not being able to gold any food down which seems to have passed. Will try the compress though x

I'm so sorry! I have dealt with them for so many years. 2 surgeries and 3 miscarriages later and still not free of them. Mine started to degenerate during my last pregnancy. Sadly, that pregnancy ended at 16 weeks, but tylenol, warm compresses and warm baths were my only hope. I hope it starts to get better for you!!❤

I was hospitalised with the pain. It took about 3-4 weeks before I could “manage” it.. and that was after days of morphine and other opiates. When it settled, I found a comfy position and just lay like that as much as I could. It’s so awful, I hope you feel better soon!

@Cherrelle how did you manage the pain throughout the rest of your pregnancy and labor? I’m 26 weeks and think my larger fibroid, 14cm, is degenerating :-/
