I gave birth in Nov 21 to my lb. Honestly was such a lovely experience, donât have any complaints. My midwife was there for most if not all the time and she just left me to it (which is how I wanted to deal with it). I ended up needing to go to Preston as a non-emergency, but my ride was postponed a couple of times due to emergency situations from other mothers so they seem to be on it. When my lb was born he wasnât breathing properly and needed intubation (tube down his throat), and they couldnât of handled the situation any better. My partner was still allowed to cut the cord but he was then taken to the private emergency room to be sorted, in the mean time the other midwife/staff were very kind and tried to take my mind off it. He was only gone for 10-15 mins as they brought him straight back when he was stable. But that is the only reason we ended up having to go to Preston.
Hi had my little boy at CBC and I couldnât fault it at all, was the most incredible experience had the water birth I always dreamed about. Had the same Midwife all night who didnât leave my side, she was even giving me a back massage through my contractions with essential oils. Only downside to my birth was I did have to go to PRH as I couldnât deliver my placenta so I had to go for surgery to remove it. But still that wasnât to traumaticâŠbaby came with me in the ambulance and my midwife came up also. Honestly stick with CBC itâs amazing!
I'm down to give birth there, all my previous births (3) were at Bolton which were all great experiences. I've had friends who gave birth at Chorley and all loved it.
I gave birth at CBC and couldnât fault it at all, I was sh*t scared as it was my first so didnât really know what to expect but my labour went perfectly. I had a water birth & gas and air.. my labour lasted just over 7 hours but it was chilled, in the pool with the radio on and lights dimmed etc, the midwife was amazing. I canât actually remember a great deal looking back đ the contractions were tough but I was lucky with how straight forward things went (no stitches needed afterwards etc.. not even any pain going to the loo which I was most scared of đđ) I 100% would recommend there but I guess there is the risks associated with it too & what youâre comfortable with. Be warned when you speak to consultants at RPH they will put the fear of god into you with the risks & try to convince you to go to Preston instead but I suppose itâs their job to do that đ
Hello! Just to say I gave birth to my little girl in March at CBC in the water. After a very calm and successful birth, my placenta didnât deliver so I ended up being blue lit to Preston so they could manually remove my placenta. The whole experience was so positive. I couldnât rate CBC and the midwives more highly. The care was exceptional and the transfer to Preston was so smooth, quick and stress free. This was my first baby and I 100% would like the opportunity to give birth at CBC again, even if it means being transferred to Preston again. I honestly feel the care I received was so good that it totally outweighs the risk of transfer. This is of course just my experience as I was low risk throughout (and never even thought about the placenta!) but just wanted to share âșïž
@Sophie congratulations!! đ„°
