Does anyone else have vaginismus & been pregnant before?

If so, how did you handle induction if you had one? I should be getting my induction date next week & at my 36 week midwife check, they discussed what’s involved. Naturally I’m anxious about having the pessary and gels 🙈 Probably because I know both my womb & cervix are tilted which don’t help. I wish I could just skip to the drip part in all honesty 🤣🙃

You can skip to the drip part of that’s what you’d prefer! They may need to break your waters before the drip (i’m not sure on that part) but you can definitely decline a pessary or gel.

@HMK Okay thank you. I did ask the midwife (not my usual one) but she didn’t give me a straight answer. Just warned me that if drip doesn’t work then it’ll be a section. But I knew that anyway especially as obviously won’t be at 40 weeks.

Girl I feel like my induction was the most easiest labour I’ve had… I went in at 12pm on Sunday and had the pessary put in by 5/6pm was getting contractions took some morphine, codeine and paracetamol for pain relief. It hit 9pm and pains got a lot worse, so was given the pethidine, injection and it made me really drowsy but my contractions were so painful I couldn’t sleep. So at 10:30 I eventually couldn’t beat them, so had told midwife’s they had checked me and I was 4cm dilated was then taken into delivery suite. Had my waters broken, for 12:30pm and had my epidural put in around 1 and had got to 10cm by 4am. Had then started pushing for 6am and my baby was born via forceps delivery due to me having epidural and not being able to push enough and babies head was stuck so baby was born for Monday morning 8:02. In all honesty, I loved my labour and I honestly feel like if I had to do it all over again I would.

@Amii That’s good. Do you have vaginismus? X

@Helen no one can place anything in your vagina without your consent. If you don’t want anything put in it please just say so. The worst part about inductions is people think the whole experience ‘happened’ to them, but you have choices and if you are in control the experience will be a lot better.

@HMK Thank you HMK x
