Fibroids and fundal height

Hi, After my 20 week anatomy scan (at a perinatal center not with my Obgyn) I was told that I’d need ultrasounds every month from now on to monitor the growth of the baby. Apparently the 6 fibroids (I knew about 2 early in pregnancy) will make it difficult for my Obgyn to monitor baby’s growth with fundal height. I’m a little nervous about the implications of these fibroids on baby’s growth and delivery although baby is healthy right now. I will talk to Obgyn about my concerns. But curious to know if others faced similar situation? What was the outcome in terms of baby’s health and delivery(vaginal or C-section) ?

I have one 12 cm fibroid and had to have a c section as it was blocking where the baby would come out. I was monitored like you will be and was reassuring. My son was born prematurely but they don't know if it was because of the fibroid or not. He was a bit on the small side but doing great 😃👍. I had to have a double incision for the c section so they wouldn't cut into the fibroid so scar is a bit bigger than others x

@Sophie Glad your son is doing great! I started getting preterm contractions at 25 weeks and I’m being treated to avoid preterm labor. And they don’t know if it’s because of the fibroids in my case too. At how many weeks was your son born?

My son was born at 31 weeks after I went in with reduced movements. Sorry to hear about your contractions but glad you're getting treatment. How are you doing now? X

I’m doing better and haven’t felt any contractions since I started medication. Hoping baby can stay put for another 8 weeks at least!
