No doctor wants to see me

I feel so devastated and overwhelmed. I’m currently 40 weeks and 4 days pregnant and trying to give birth has been a roller coaster. I was receiving prenatal care up until my doctor wanted to schedule me a c section which I cancelled. I discussed that I wanted to do a vbac but it’s like no doctor is “comfortable”. I dont know what to do at this point. Side note: I went to ER and they told me I was 1cm dilated but not contracting so they sent me home.

If no doctor is comfortable doing a VBAC with your history, there's a reason. They literally make the best judgement with their medical background for the health of you and your baby. Why do you not want a c section this time? Why did you have one last time?

You can definitely have a successful VBAC maybe try calling a midwife

They shouldn’t be refusing you care though, you are a patient with rights and I don’t think they can force you into having surgery. So like that seems very strange that they are hanging you out to dry. Doesn’t make sense. I’d labor at home until you’re 5 minutes apart( or whatever it is for second baby) then call the hospital when you’re on your way. Like normal and they will work with you as you show up, they won’t not deliver your baby, that’d be insane. My mom had two successful vbacs, many women do.

What is your previous medical history? I wouldn’t be taking advice without telling anyone why the doctors arent comfortable I think Alissa is right… do you know what risks are involved has it been discussed?

@Mitch this will be my second pregnancy. And the reason I had a c section the first time was because my baby heart rate had dropped due to the pitocin they gave me. All they could say this time is they don’t want to risk a uterine rupture.

My mom got dropped by her Dr at the end of her pregnancy because a specialist removed her cerclage and her OB flipped his lid over it. She also couldn't find an OB, so she ended up with a homebirth midwife and had my sister in the bathtub of our little trailer lol. It worked out in the end but it was really stressful to suddenly have an unplanned unmedicated birth on top of being stressed over her OB treating her like crap.

Are you having this one close after your first? I’ve been told not to get pregnant for at least 12-18 months after my c section if I want any chance of having a VBAC to give my uterus time to be fully healed, if you’re closer in time than that they are likely concerned about uterine rupture.
