Do they need to have their first lot of jabs before going swimming...? I've booked in some swimming lessons at a warmer pool, but worried that my usual swimming pool is too cold to take her at the moment 🙄
@Lucy did you go to a specifically warm pool?
@Alyssa No, don't have to have their first jabs! I phoned our local pool to check the temp and it was warm enough so we go there, just double check first! It needs to be minimum 32° for babies under 12 weeks x
Ahhhhh that's really interesting! I'll give them a ring tomorrow to check what they heat the pool to 😊 what temp was your pool? Was baby happy with it? I had my baby in the birth pool and she loved it, also loves a bath but obviously around 36 degrees so nice and warm, x
@Alyssa It's 32-35 degrees depending on how warm it is outside as its surrounded by glass! She loved it - she wasn't too happy about getting out but she isn't at bath time either so I think that's just normal! We go every Wednesday and it's so nice to get out of the house and do something fun!x
I took my little girl swimming for the first time last week at 5 weeks exactly! I'd take 2 towels for baby (one for getting out the pool when soaking wet and one for drying them properly after), a 'happy nappy' or 'happy nappy' swimsuit/wetsuit, a dummy/soother if she uses one and a bottle if you bottle feed! I found it was best to feed my baby about half a bottle before she went swimming, so she was settled but not sleepy! Also, most babies cry when they get out of the pool/get changed, so don't stress about that like I did! If you have any more questions feel free to message me x
