Just be knowledgable and prepared. I wasn’t scared at all but my husband was lol no horror stories here! I couldn’t have had a better birthing experience. You’re gonna crush it mama
I’m more scared for postpartum. The baby is coming out regardless and you have a team to help you. But I have heard horror stories postpartum that is what scares me more and what I am prepping more for.
4 weeks PP and even though my labor didn’t quite go to plan vaginally turned c section none of it was scary. The doctors and nurses are amazing!! I always felt in great hands and was not worried when I was in the hospital. You got this ladies!!
Education + knowledge are key! I HIGHLY recommend taking a birthing class. Whether in person or online. For online I love @painfreebirth or @builttobirth. Birth is a beautiful process and your body was designed to do it! Taking the mystery out of how it works can eliminate so much fear. You were built for this! Happy to chat more if you’re interested. Almost 11 months postpartum from a beautiful unmedicated natural (no interventions) water birth 💙
I’ve come to the realization that I’m completely fine with either a vaginal or c section delivery bc he’s gonna have to come out regardless. I realized I just worry about things I’m not able to control & that’s where most my fear comes from 🥺
SHUT DOWN THE HORROR STORIES!! Just stop anyone who tries to share their traumatic birth with you! Ina May Gaskin has a midwifery book where the whole first half is positive birth stories, I read so many positive stories and that really helps ease fears, show different “normal”s, and normalize birth! Also read all the books (I have some interest in doula courses so I looked up a curriculum online and have been reading books from that curriculum!) and take as many classes as you can! I found free ones at my local hospital!
It really is not that bad. I had an emergency c section and my experience was all very positive and we got discharged the next day. Even when there are complications the doctors can take care of it. The hard part comes after giving birth 😀
Most moms are anxious and fearful about birth, it is normal. I definitely recommend a birthing class and a birth plan. Being knowledgeable will help with the anxiety. Even though my birth didn’t go quite as I planned having a birth plan in advance made me feel like I had some control. Unfortunately, we can’t control labor. Trust your nurses and doctors as they are experienced and have your best interest at heart. Even share your fears with your doctor if you’re comfortable. Everyone’s experience is different so don’t worry about the horror stories too much. You got this !
@Marina the next day with a c section 😳

Be prepared but flexible. And remember everything is fine until you are told otherwise. Pregnancy was the toughest part for me. Labor and delivery was a breeze
Take birthing classes! But honesty, I've done it twice and still scared.
