It has been so rough!!
🙋♀️🙋♀️🙋♀️ got it in March. Definitely not a great experience but in the long run worth it.
I did find out at my anatomy scan but I was told my sac was super close to the cervix so there was a chance the Dr could nick it and cause a miscarriage so I started progesterone last night I was admitted to the hospital on the 11 and got to go home yesterday morning
I'm so nervous about doing something wrong @Sarah J @Shaun
Yeah they were going to start me on progesterone but once they saw how short the cervix was they did the cerclage
@Amanda when I got the cerclage done, my doctor could see my bag. She literally shoved it back in and proceeded with the cerclage. I saw her today to check on the cerclage and my bag is still pressing on my cervix she's not worried about it. She also put me on progesterone 2 weeks ago. The biggest and best thing for you to do is rest! Gravity is unfortunately not our friend, so resting and keeping your legs elevated is the best thing! I was worried in the beginning, but as my pregnancy progresses along, I feel better every day!
I did but I’m taking progesterone for now vaginally hopefully it works
@Chanel I'm doing the same thing I got nervous about doing the procedure
@LaShonda ok thank you for that 🙏🏼 how is the progress going with u being on progesterone
@Amanda me too I just didn’t like the risk I felt like I needed to try everything first
Exactly I couldn't Agree more
@Amanda everything is holding together and my doctor is very happy with the way things are going! So much so that we locked in where to deliver the baby. She's going to check my cervix again in 3 weeks but she doesn't think anything will change since its been the same size since I got the cerclage. Today was probably the happiest I've seen her! The progesterone causes me to have more discharge, but as long as everything is good with baby and cervix, I'll take it.
Oh ok yeah I'm just doing the progesterone and seeing how that works
But @LaShonda I'm so happy that everything working for you

@Amanda my doctor said progesterone alone works fine alone, my girl was just too close for comfort at my cervix which is why I got the cerclage. She was going to do just bed rest and progesterone initially, but my cervix kept getting shorter and shorter. And im considered high risk because of my age.
@LaShonda thank u for that I appreciate it that is alot of relief
I got rescue cerclage at 20weeks as my cervix is opened.I was super worried initially later things are going well.I’m on modified bed rest and taking vaginal progesterone daily.
Ok thank you @Divya I have an appointment on the 24 so we shall see what happens that day
@LaShonda did you have headaches when you stood up after your cerclage?
@Sarah J no not at all. Just a little dizzy.
@Shaun did they give you an epidural ?
@Chanel yes girl! And fetanyl After it wore off I felt everything! That first night is the worse!
@Shaun did they give you anything to take at home? sorry for all the questions but I think I may be next
@Chanel ask all the questions u want! They gave me Tylenol 3s
@Shaun thanks because I’m so nervous! Ok so I’m terrified of epidurals I’ve heard so many horror stories I was told that I could just get an injection in my back. So the fentanyl isn’t harmful to the baby? I’ve only had it once when I had a breast reduction a few years back. How long did it take for you to recover? Did you bleed a lot? We’re you still able to have sex after the procedure?
I have a question for anybody that can answer me Am I allowed to have sex while on progesterone and if I've started dilating already
I might end up getting it as well I will find out soon
@Amanda I'd love an update!
@Chanel my doctor told me no sex for the remainder of my pregnancy 🙃

@LaShonda 😲😲😲
@LaShonda I will definitely keep u updated
@Chanel I just had it done Thursday I'm still recovering. Currently on bed rest.
@LaShonda I'm just nervous about every little thing right now I'm trying to keep baby girl in as long as possible I've been on just the progesterone 200 mg for about 3 days and very miminal movement
@Chanel right. I got it at 17 weeks. Due August 11th. My poor husband lol
@Amanda i completely understand! I found out about my shift cervix and the next day I was getting the cerclage! I had no time to process what was going on, no time to figure anything out! Definitely came out of nowhere! Just keep up with the minimal movement and everything will be fine! And if you do have to have the cerclage, you'll be better prepared for it! Getting stories from others should help put your mind at ease. Lots of women go through this and have healthy pregnancies, births, and babies! I know I certainly feel good knowing my rainbow baby is doing great bc I made the decision that was best for her!
Thank you for that @LaShonda I'm also pregnant with my rainbow 🌈 Baby 👶🏽 💕 I will find out on the 24 what the Dr wants to do or what my options are
@LaShonda that happened to me today I got an ultrasound at 11 and was admitted by 1 pm today surgery is in the morning
@Chanel I pray everything goes good for you please keep us updated I have a feeling I'm gonna end up getting one done
@Amanda I definitely will and I’m praying for you too
Thank you I appreciate it @Chanel
@Amanda ok I’m back home and it actually wasn’t bad the spinal wasn’t too bad. But my legs being numb was sooooo weird it freaked me tf out I almost passed out when they were moving them for me lol. It only took like 15 minutes I haven’t taken anything for pelvic pain since the surgery. But I did take Tylenol for a headache.
@Chanel the spinal had me going crazy lol I kept asking where my butt was because I couldn't feel it 😅 it took almost 5 hours for me to get the feeling back in anything! Im glad everything worked out for you!
@LaShonda the literal same I got mine done at 3:30 I left the hospital at 9 still slightly numb it was so weird my butt was the last thing numb. But I had no bleeding at all which was nice. I got instantly dizzy when they moved my legs but they still felt like they were in front of me
Yes, yesterday!!!! Most painful experience ever!
