What if your baby has blood sugar issues at birth? I know it's less likely with really controlled diabetes, but there is no way to predict what a newborns "set-point" will be for their pancreas, and thus no way to predict how effected they were by your blood sugar throughout pregnancy, and thus no way to predict how their pancreas will act at birth. Are you outside of the US? Because I feel like it would be hard to find a provider to agree to help you do an at-home birth in the US because of liability. But you've done it before I guess

@Alyssa my first was 1pt under normal and it was treated w/ glucose gel, she was fine! I did have around 100mls of colostrum expressed that we used too. I almost think I wouldn’t mention the type 1 until after birth? 😂🙈
By lieing you are handicapping the medical professional caring for you because they become partially blind to your conditions. You are also blinding them to potential issues that may arise for your baby. Personally I wouldn't want a healthcare provider caring for my baby to be doing so without all pertinent information. It's not a good idea.

I say best of both worlds would be using a birthing center. You have your medical staff but also your privacy if needed
@Jade thanks Jade! Unfortunately I’m not located near credible birth centers but I’ve found a midwife who will do a homebirth w/ me and she’s worked with T1s in the past!
That's awesome. In the us midwives can't even touch a type 1 with a 6foot pole sigh.
