Transition to Powder Formula

Hey! So I recently transitioned my baby (6 weeks) to the powder version of Enfamil Gentlease. She has been on liquid/ready made since birth. However, she spit ups a lot. Any other moms have the same experience? I’m not sure what to do. She didn’t have this issue with ready made formula. Does it take a little while to get use to powder?

@Ellie today I tried the swirl method and that worked (along with page feeding) and she didn’t spit up. I think she just needed a little time to get use to it and for me not to shake the bottle

@Brittany yes we also use distilled water and do what the can says. We’re seeing her pediatrician Wednesday to make sure she’s not having issues with reflux. She also is pace fed too lots of breaks and burps in between so we’ve also been confused about her spitting up.

Are you shaking it when you mix it? If so you're introducing lots of air into it which causes gassy bellys and if you don't wind it all up they will spit it up. Try swirling it or sterilise a spoon and mix it in gently. I'm not sure how it works in America for formula but we just have to use cooled boiled water when we do bottles so I wonder if it's the water causing issues too

@Brianna I’m using distilled water and @Ellie I’ve been following the directions on the can. You’ve been having the same issue too?

What type of water are you using to mix it?

We started on the liquid NeuroPro and now we do powder just cause the liquid is never available. I think it’s because our scooping ratio isn’t as accurate as the pre made stuff but I really don’t know that’s just my best guess
