Formula in Fridge

Just wondering is it okay to make bottles using formula and boiled water and use for up to 24 hour if stored in the fridge straight away? I know once used you need to get rid of it after an hour but my baby likes cold milk so wondering if this would be a good way to save time and prep?

I’d say no and babies shouldn’t be drinking cold milk as it can actually cause a cold in the stomach. It’s not healthy.

@Shannon Rae I didn’t say that the nutrition will Decreases it’s more about constant cold milk will cause a cold stomach. It also slows down the digestive system and can cause upset stomachs for babies.

NHS website does say that made up formula can be stored in the fridge for up to 24 hours. They do advise now to make every bottle up when you need it but I will be prepping a few and leaving them in the fridge for convienence! You can re warm a bottle in hot water once its been in the fridge or get a bottle warmer

Yes it’s fine, I’ve been doing it and my baby’s absolutely fine. I did buy a bottle warmer though just so it’s not really cold when I feed him x

You can I bf and used the ready made formula and he used to drink ot from the fridge x
