Leaving baby for the weekend

No judgment please because I’m really excited. It’s my best friends hen do next weekend for 3 nights and I’m bridesmaid. I’ll be leaving my breastfed baby for the whole time with Dad. She is nearly 14 months. I had hoped to stop breastfeeding by now but it’s been tricky and she still wakes up for milk but I think it’s just comfort. She’s always been boob obsessed but she does eat and have some cows milk. I do feel ready to leave her she loves her dad and I am sure she will be ok. I guess I am just having doubts as it will be a shock to her. Just wondering if anybody has any success stories/advice how I can best prepare for the change?

I’m leaving my little one for 2 nights for the first time ever with dad. She’s also breastfed and will mostly only feed to sleep for bedtime. Fingers crossed everything goes smoothly with yours and you can enjoy your weekend!

Maybe try and get dad to baby to bed a few times whilst you're there and settle her during any night time wakes when possible. It may be a bit more difficult with you being near by and Baba being able to smell the milk but I feel it's nice for baby to get to know that sometimes mum does it sometimes dad does it then it doesn't feel much different when your not there. Hopefully this will reassure you that you don't need to worry as much and prepare baby aswell x

Thank you everybody! All really helpful. I should add that we’ve been working hard on breaking the feed to sleep association so Dad actually does bedtime now and I just feed back to sleep if she wakes in the night. I’m hoping that she will just let him settle her back down when she wakes

We left our son with grandparents for the weekend. He isn’t breastfed anymore but I was a bit worried especially about bedtime but he was fine! Didn’t moan and slept 12 hours straight both nights. Really surprised us so hopefully your little one will surprise you and knowing you aren’t an option milk wise sometimes is easier
