Hold with Centrelink

Hey all, Am on hold with Centrelink trying to get onto someone to talk about the Parental Leave payment. Called when they opened at 8 and have been on hold for an hour with only music playing, no voice popping in every now and then to advise to continue holding on, or what you can normally expect when on hold. Just checking anyone else that has called only had music too, wanting to make sure I haven’t been just chucked in an endless que to never be answered lol.

Yep I did that yesterday. Was on hold for nearly 2 hrs 🙄

Hi Holly, I have also had to call a few times to chase this up - I was on hold this week for just over two hours. It's so frustrating! Goof luck and hang in there!

The wait times on Centrelink are ridiculous.

Centrelink is a joke! I had a phone call from them half an hour ago because the ABN I had put on my application was incorrect, I was given a phone number to call back with the correct details, I assumed it was a direct number but oh was I wrong, after going through all the bs the stupid recording hung up on me! 🤦‍♀️

I’m putting off calling them 😭

Yup I was on hold I’d say close to an hour.. got there eventually! Think I had to request to speak to an operator rather than saying what it was actually about (paid parental leave) because I heard they can fob you off. Also mentioned financial hardship to the lady which meant she could put it in as urgent and they processed it the following week. It’s so bad that you have to do that.. it’s a terrible system! Best of luck

partners was stuffed so went in. went to nerang at 845 and waited 15 mins after being on hold for an hour. she got him to upload birth cert via ap and all good.
